I am so glad you liked Flights of Wonder. That show would probably be too much for Jeff. He would be flipping out. If he ever wanted to do an immersion (or whatever its called) to get over his bird phobia, that would be the place.

Yay update! Real life just gets in the way sometimes, doesn't it? I'm glad Shan is doing well at University, but I figured she's a smarty pants. She has that look about her. Must take after her mother.

Growing up in Disney is the best way. It's great to have such memories to look back on and pictures to document it all. Our Disney trips have been some of our best times and we have so many stories that we talk about all the time. I can understand why you would get misty.

Wow, 2 hours for KS? That's crazy!

I would pay money to see Jeff get all crazy watching Flights of Wonder. Like, really really pay money.

September always seems so busy and I got it when she was in school but I had no idea her starting University would turn my life upside down!

Couldn't agree more! I love when we get out the old photo albums, especially the first trip, she was so little and so adorable (not that she isn't now, but different....you know what I mean) We had them out a couple of weeks ago and she said "oh great, the unfortunate looking years" I cracked up. She calls the years between 8 and 10 the unfortunate looking years...she said I was chubby, had bad hair and I needed braces in the worst way....I thought she was beautiful always!

Another week has passed and I do recall saying something about things slowing down...I lied! It was one of those weeks and yesterday was spent with Shanleigh at the hair salon, then the grocery store, then home to laundry, dusting vacuuming, then had my sister and her kiddies over (Geodoc was working evenings) and Shan went out to a makeup party! So much for a relaxing Saturday!

Anyhoodle, any day that I get to spend with my daughter and my sister and her family is a great day so I'm gonna stop complaining! I thought I should finish up our AK day so here goes!

After standing and sitting for 2 hours we decided we should stand and walk some more and Shanleigh was dying to do Pangani so off we went. I gladly gave the camera over to her as she was in a mood to take pictures. Forgive me, I can't for the life of me remember what this species is called and someone is still getting their beauty sleep so I can't ask her either!

Ok, this one is easy....see the turtle everyone

Neither of us could get over the size of these frogs!

Shanleigh thought this bird was beautiful and I loved how the picture turned out with the fish!

Then it was off to see these magnificent creatures! We spent over an hour here, neither of us could get enough of them!

Shanleigh was concerned this one had passed away as she couldn't see the chest rising and falling but all was well, he was sleeping!

Look at that face.....isn't he something!

We then went to the other side where he came wandering down and was people watching, we thought this was so funny!

Another one joining the party!

Then we saw Lily, she made her way up here and then fell out, she was too cute!

She made her way over to the container and started playing it like a drum...at that point everyone came over to watch and I'm sure you all know what happened. People are so incredibly rude and think as long as I get my shot that's all that matters! We just waited it out ......

One of the females came over and decided it was time for a treat so off she went up the tree...Lily followed at first then decided to come back down.

Isn't this the cutest picture of her...waiting for her lunch we thought! After our fill of the gorillas we headed to the buses! It had clouded over so we decided no sense in heading back to the resort to the pool cause it looked like rain. Shanleigh thought we should take the bus to the Yacht and Beach Club and have our own little treat at Beaches and Cream so that's what we did!

We made it to the bus without the skies opening but by the time we were almost at the Yacht Club it was pouring! We got off the bus there and thought we would just enjoy the lobby until the rain subsided! Then it was off to one of our favourite little places on property!

I was surprised the place wasn't packed but it worked well for us! We were going to spllit something until Shanleigh decided she just had to have a peanut butter sundae, not the No Way Jose, she thought that would be too big for her to eat on her own!

I decided on the Milky Way Sundae and really didn't care if I could finish it or not, I love that sundae and it didn't disappoint! It hardly looked like I put a dent in in at the end but I enjoyed what I had!

Shanleigh's peanut butter sundae....we had to sit with one seat between us, then she was to hand sanitize and not come near me until she does!

We had such a great day and now the sun was starting to peak out again so we headed to the boat! We decided we would just take it to HS and then the bus from there!

Those pictures of the gorillas are great. They were so active the day you visited them, and Lily is just too cute! We have a baby gorilla at our local zoo, and I catch myself spending all morning just watching him play and explore.


Good decision on heading to the Yacht Club. Can't go wrong with Beach and Cream, and you ordered my favorite! The Milky Way...it's nearly impossible to finish by yourself, but it's a lot of fun to try.
