Tell me I can do this...

I can throw together a yard sale within a week. DD will be at a girl scouts sleepover so I wouldn't have to deal "But that's my toy!" crap all morning.

Personally, i always wanted my kids' help with a garage sale. I would never have had one when they weren't home. They would have helped me get ready for the sale, and if they weren't ready to give something up, it wasn't sold.

As a child DS decided to sell MOTU figures at a garage sale. As a adult he bought others.

I only decided about 4 hours ago to have a yard sale tomorrow! So if I can do it, you can do it.

One of my sisters did it in a week. Last Saturday, she spent all day going through her place, putting all kinds of stuff aside for the yard sale.

On Sunday, she and her son tackled his room.

She spent the week pricing stuff whenever she could squeeze it in after work and today she had the yard sale. Made 300.00.

So I bet you could do it too.

Last night I decided to have a garage sale (and I have one every 6 months or so, so I have signs ready to go.) I gathered up everything I wanted to put in and priced it while I watched tv last night. It took about 2 hours. Then I dragged it to the garage and arranged the small stuff on tables, hung the clothes on clothing racks. (I have 3 wheeled ones that I use to help with laundry so it's really easy.) Put the big stuff on the ground. In the morning I got dressed, got my kids fed, went our about 7 and put signs up, opened the garage, and dragged everything out. It was about 3 hours prep work, 4 hour sale, and I made $141. Not spectacular, but not bad for spur of the moment either.
