Also looking at the Beach Club this year, just for something different as AKL and WL have now been removed from the list so that is the only remaining one we haven't done.
Have they really removed AKL and WL? So that only leaves BC(already done it) and Poly, correct? Staying at AKL in Sept. and was hoping to do it there

I'm going to Disney in October and was hoping to do a family shoot probably the 20 min one. I was hoping they would be able to take pictures of my two kids, one's aged 2 years and the others 4 months. Has anyone on here had pictures taken with a baby or really young kids? Did they manage to get good shots?

Thanks x

I can't speak to having done this with such young children as my DD was 8 when we did our first one, but I do think you are wise to go with a 20 minute session. Keeping children, even older ones, interested in posing for photos for an hour is a bit of a tall order in most cases.

The 20 minutes is far more workable with young kids as you are not staying in one spot for more than a few minutes.

I suspect the baby will be fairly easy; it's the toddler who may keep you running around

That said, the photographers are so used to doing these shoots with all sized parties and age ranges and they will help you with a strategy. They tend to go with the flow, we found. Perhaps suggest that you get all the group photos, or as many as possible, done as soon as you arrive and let them get candid shots of the little one when he/she loses interest after a while. Some DISers posted pics on the original thread of their toddlers playing on the Poly beach with sand pails and shovels and in my opinion, these sort of photos of kids are so much nicer and capture so much more than formal ones. Just go, take your family and be ready to roll with it

We just did a photo session with 8 people-4 adults, 4 children. My daughter is 16 months old and the others were 5, 8, and 11. The photographer was really good with getting the baby and 5 year-old to smile. He played peek-a-boo and we got some really great shots.

The hard part will be to get the 4-month-old without arms showing. The 350 dollar package would probably afford you some retouching/cropping that the 150 wouldn't.

I need some help I can't make my mind up on this one. I am not too exited about the locations of the 20 min sessions. We are considering doing the hour long but I just don't want to do it in Epcot. We thought about AK but we haven't really seen any other pictures but the ones that are in their website and are not sure about it. We are thinking maybe taking pictures at the boardwalk. I found thisphotographer that does pictures in the resorts. Her prices are similar to Disney events I just want to go with the option that gives me the best pictures.

Any recent opinions? We're planning to book for December I think as my Christmas present. I really want to do them in DHS or EPCOT.

I just called Disney Fine Art photography about doing a session at the Boardwalk and was asking about if I needed to prepay the extra $50 to get the CD in advance and she said that now the CD is $100 if you pre purchase it or $150 if you purchase it after.. so the total cost would either be $450 or $500... I had read on here previously that the disc was just $50... it seems they just keep raising their prices....am I the only one that things this is way too expensive?!!!

Yes over the past year or so the prices just are rising and to me not even worth looking at anymore

We actually booked 2 (20 min) mini sessions back-to-back last October for my oldest DD's senior high school pictures. The mini session was $150 and we got all images on a CD - there is no extra charge for this. We decided to go with 2 mini sessions because A. She wanted to chage outfits and felt that 20 min wasn't long enough to change B. it was still cheaper than booking the 1 hour session which cost $350 and didn't include the CD, that was an add'l cost. We booked the BC and the photographer we had took some amazing shots of my DD. As for the cost, you would have to do some research to see if the price is worth it to you. For us, going with the Disney photographers was cheaper than what our local photographers wanted to charge for senior pictures and she was able to take her photos in Disney which is what she always wanted to do in the first place so our decision was easy.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just booked ours for December. I got quoted the $100 for the CD too, we're doing the enhanced photo session ($350).

We did get a DVC discount though and it came out to $380 for the session and CD with enhanced photos on it. I don't think the prices are that crazy for a park shoot. I'd never pay it for the Poly etc since I got engagement photos done privately for less, but I'm very excited about getting park photos done.

Well this year we decided to go with Randy CHapman instead of Disney for our 1 hour photo and it was night and day. we haven't seen the photos yet but I saw some of them in is camera and let me tell you, they look much better. He was great with trying to get my 6 yo triplets and 3 months old DD to look at the camera. I have no regrets about picking him over Disney. He was very good with the girls. Although we were suppose to only have an hour with him, he gave us 1.5 hours of his time for the same price. I'll let you know when I see the photos how good the are.

My DD had her senior high school pictures taken at the BC last year with some of them being on the beach and they came out great! It really is a beautiful resort with so many great locations for pictures so I wouldn't worry too much. As for tipping... we tried to tip the Events photographer, but she wouldn't accept it Hope this helps.

I'm totally interested in an outside photographer. I've been researching and have found exactly 2 that I like--one shoots at $750 an hour and the other is only a little cheaper...
I'm super picky though and I recognize that. I am a photographer myself and I work at an amazing studio. I completely understand why photogs charge what they do for different things, but I'm still a mom out for the best deal I can find for the best family picture I can get! I will NOT hire a photographer EVER without seeing a sample of their work first! So that rules the Disney photogs out. Plus the ones I see in their website aren't that great.
The thing about photography is it preserves memories in a way that nothing else can. For me, this is one area I will not skimp on. Ever. Luckily I usually do my own pics but its not the same when I have to be in the picture. I need someone who cares as much as I do pushing the shutter.
With that said, I'm trying to make a list of area photogs to research--which is something it sounds like a lot of us could use! Part of what I'm finding is that a lot of the area photogs don't want to sell their digital files--which I totally get! But dang it's hard being on this end of things for a change! So any suggestions for an outside photog I would totally welcome! I've already looked at the few that have been named on here but I'm certain there must be more!!!
