Fabulous story. I'm so glad that his life if progressing and he has been blessed.

So I just spent the better part of two days catching up on this entire TR. I loved seeing both of your older grandgirls rock their ponchos during those wet early days of your trip. I was delighted to hear of Sophie's arrival and then nervous/prayerful to hear of Jill's scare and joyful to hear she was on the road to recovery. To top all of that off I discovered towards the end that my Disneymoon with my DH falls almost on exactly the same dates as your upcoming trip! We will be at POFQ from the 5th through the 11th. I hope you have a wonderful upcoming trip with your beautiful family!

Maybe we will be seeing you around!

The picture of Brooklynn (super spinner!) resting on the teacups is so cool! I have to say I love super spinning too but I am too lazy to spin the wheel - I am on vacation and that means no manual labour!
Brooklynn used to be okay with just spinning as the Teacups spin anyway, without helping them along. Now that she thinks she such a big shot with all of her thrill rides, she likes to be a super spinner.

We love seeing the animals up close. That's certainly something different than what happens in real life. It's interesting to watch the meerkats look from side to side, ever watchful, and it's funny to see a tiger all sprawled out on his back, paws up in the air. We love watching all of the animals.

I hope the weather ranges from high 60's to low 80's every day. That would be my order. I hope all of the parties are good ones with no rain.

I will check the private messages, but it won't hurt for you to send it again, and I'll send you ours. Maybe we can hook up to watch the parade or something.

Also, see message below with the next two posts.

Welcome to both of you!

Do you know your schedule for the 8th? If you are in Animal Kingdom, maybe you could come by Tusker House as we get ready to check in. I'll ask Jill what time our ADR is. Lauren, are you in AK on the 8th, by any chance? It's always fun to meet a big group of DIS people when the opportunity is there.

A sulking guy? We've been known to have one of those with us a few times. When he gets hungry or tired, sometimes there is some sulking. Once he is rested and/or filled up, though, he does fairly well.

DH sulks in WDW because 1) He hates walking. 2)He'd rather be taking a nap and 3) He's just always like that haha.

Next, we went out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. I will never ride the train out there again without remembering that it was where we learned that Joan was going to die. I wish I could forget it, but it makes me sad every time I see the train or think about that December ride. Joan's birthday was last Friday. I thought of her all week long.

Off the train, the girls know that the first stop is for pictures with the elephants. We will add Sophie to the elephant pictures this trip.

Did you guys see the story of Oscar?

There is so much to see and learn about around here.

Feeding time.

We had missed the morning's activities.

We have a lot of these around here. I don't think they live as good a life as this guy does, though.

Something Brooklynn may want to do as a Science project some day.

Interesting stuff.

That's it for now. Enjoy your evening!

I've never done Rafiki's Planet Watch before. It looks really great for younger school aged kids.

It is.
And this 55 year old kid likes it, too. Maybe I like it more than the average person, since I am a teacher. I love places, events, etc. that allow kids to learn in a fun way. Every time I go to Animal Kingdom and Epcot, I think how much I would love to get my students there. They would go nuts!

********************************************

Finishing out our time at Rafiki's...

This is me when I retire and go to work at AK.

I'm not sure about the story behind this. I will have to do some research.

The girls love, love, love their animal friends, and they are always on the hunt for new ones.

Look - a mingo has landed on Bella's head!

Wish I had unlimited funds for books to fill my classroom shelves with these.

Side note: Jill bought one beaded animal for each girl, including Sophie, before the trip was over.

We have certainly contributed our share to this fund!

Again, I'd love to fill a cart full of books to bring home, but gosh, books are expensive!

How many beads does it take to make a large elephant?

My little one has never been a big fan of Rafiki's Planet Watch. Your girls always seem to have such a great time there, we will have to give it another try, although I don't know if we'll have time on our next trip

More colorful and unique animal art pieces.

Taking Animal Kingdom home.

Not just your average display shelf. This is the kind of thing that adds so much to the theme.

I have to come up with an excuse to buy one of these someday.

Curtain ties, maybe, or napkin rings?

Craftsman at work.

I still haven't bought one of these. When they discontinue them, I will be sorry, won't I?

Ornaments.

Next time:
Jill gives a certain place a second chance.
Does it redeem itself...or not?

for memories of Joan at Rafiki's.

I LOVE the different AK merchandise...ironic because it's my least-favorite park! But the different animal beadings and carvings are gorgeous!

Great pictures of Rafiki's Planetwatch! I've been to AK 4 times, but only managed to make it there once.

I needed a shopping trip this morning! I bet Bella got a mingo beaded animal.

I still haven't made it to Rafiki's and see a procedure. Always have good intentions but never make it on time.

So sorry that the train ride was such a sad one.

Anxious to hear what Jill gives a second chance....
