Discounts in December

Does anyone know of any discounts on room only for December 27-29? We are looking at staying in a value room with no tickets. Also, can you add the dining plan without adding tickets?

That is the busiest time of year. Perhaps a military discount at best but Disney sells out the resorts then so there are no needs for discounts.

Auralia answered your first question and I agree with her. A discount is not likely for that time period.

As to the second question, there are ways to get the dining plan without buying tickets but you must either be an AP holder or be staying at a DVC resort on points. You might also be able to get it if you are military and staying onsite but I don't know if this always applies or only when there are military salute tickets available.

I figured no discounts were available, but I figured it was worth asking.

I was looking also, and there are better sales the second week of December than the first. Does that mean attendance is lower the second week than the first?

The first week of december is usually the busiest week DVC wise. Also there is pop warner football and cheer contests (which really only cause you problems when you stay at the same hotel as the kids... they hotels haven't been announced yet. Some are saying CBR and an all star, others are saying POR and an all star. Overall the first week of december also includes the grand opening of the next phase in fantasy land so that may increase crowds a bit around the 5th and 6th.
