Nemo in 3-D?

Has anyone gone? I'm usually not one to see a re-release in the theaters, but am curious as to how it looks in 3-D.

We just returned home. I think it's beautiful in 3D. There's not a lot of in-your-face a la Tough to be a Bug. The Toy Story short was great, too!

I pre-ordered it on Amazon, I think it's coming out in early December. Can't wait to see it.

I don't ususally go to re-leased movies either but I took my niece and nephew to Finding Nemo last night and thought it was absolutely stunning on the big screen in 3D. Now I can't wait until December to see Monster's Inc. in 3D as well!

I'm going to see it this afternoon. I was disappointed in Lion King 3D, but I'm hoping Nemo will be better, I think it lends itself more to 3D. I kind of enjoy the re-releases. We went to Beauty and the Beast re-release and it was great to see it on a big screen again.

Seeing the movie on the big screen was amazing but I found the 3d to be pretty light. At many points I took off my glasses and I could see the movie perfectly (meaning in many scenes there was no 3d conversion at all)

I think Nemo would have been amazing if it had been originally done in 3d, but i think with all the details (think the specs in the water etc) The post 3d animation just couldn't do it as well.

We thought it was great and we really felt like we were under the water with them! Almost better than the movie though, was the new Pixar short before it! It was SOOO funny we were laughing out loud!

Just home from Nemo 3D and I totally agree. We loved the Toy Story short and I thought the 3D was very good, even my sister who doesn't normally think 3D is worth the extra money said Nemo 3D was worth it.

I look forward to seeing what 3D adds to the film.

We have a sort of "mini IMAX" theater here in Sarasota, and I'm fairly sure it's being shown there.

Since I can't talk any of my friends into seeing it, (again) I'll prolly "sneak off" one afternoon this week and check it out.

I think the film is the stuff of genius, myself. Just the scenes in the aquarium in the dentist's office alone are just brimming with such imagination and creativity.

I can't wait to see it on the "big screen" again.

We went to see it purely to see it on the big screen, not because it was 3D. The 3D aspect was lacking in our opinion, but it was still great to see the movie. We feel that Pixar did a fantastic job animating it the first time, that it almost looks 3D.

We will probably see Monsters, Inc. for the same reason in December.

^ jeanigor,

Did you find that the film looked considerably "dimmer" when watching it through the 3D glasses, or did it look like the same bright and sharp picture we've come to expect from PIXAR ?

I'm curious about this myself. Finding Nemo was beautiful in its original form so I'm wondering if 3D had any negative effect?

I wouldn't say it was noticeably dimmer or less sharp. The texture of Marlin's skin was still breathtakingly clear and crisp.

As for negative effect, only on the wallet. Our theatre charges an extra $3 for 3D movies.

If it were offered in re-release without 3D, hindsight would point me to see that version.

I'm still on the fence, but more interested now. Thanks for the input all. Leaning towards going especially since its playing at the Dine In.
