Thinking of going to Disneyland California in 2014. Has anybody else been?
Were did you stop? Who did you book with?
All help welcome.

I love Disneyland and have been 4 times, most recently was last year. Also last year was the closest I have stayed yet and was just down the road at the Candy Cane Inn, I booked directly with them. The CCI is a lovely little motel/hotel. Standard 2 bedded rooms, swimming pool and complimentary continental breakfast was great. Also being so close meant I went for opening then back to the hotel early afternoon for a swim then back to the parks for the evening shows and DTD

we went about 6 or 7 years ago.

we did a really long trip to the states - 3 weeks at WDW (including a 4 day disney cruise), then a week in disneyland, 4 days in vegas, a week in detroit (where my family lives), 3 days in new york and then home..

i booked it all myself. Each part separately - WDW, DCL, DL, Vegas, NYC....for the flights i think i had VUSA tickets, but i don't know if those still exist.

we stayed onsite in disneyland at the Grand Californian.

we had a great time the entire trip!!

I had three nights at the CCI, so two full days plus the afternoon I arrived. Having been before and travelling solo I was able to do everything I wanted to. For a first time visitor and with the new Cars Land I would say 4 nights so three full days would be good

i think it depends when you're there..
we were there in july and the place was packed...packed packed packed..

we had 4 full days (plus a half day when we arrived) - 2 full days in each park and that was really tough...
and that was back when DCA was still pretty light on attractions...

I was there the last week of June and although busy I thought it was quieter than WDW in early June

i'm trying to remember exactly when we were there, but i'm pretty sure it was the last week of july (since we were at universal for the 4th of july and then went over to WDW for 3 weeks)....

We have visited Disneyland three times. On the first two occasions we stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim (believe it has now changed name), very short walk just past CCI, great location and good room size and pool. On the last occasion we stayed at Paradise Pier, smaller room but superb location and room overlooked DCA which was great as we were there over Christmas. The first trip was booked via Virgin holidays and the other two were independent. we had no problems with the independent booking. On the two fourteen day visits we bought annual passes as this was cheaper than a 7 day ticket, although AP prices have now shot up. We enjoyed having the flexibility of being able to visit on different days and not worry about the crowds but 4 days would be fine at a not so busy time. Would highly recommend visiting, we have been to Disneyworld many times but there is definitely something special about Disneyland and the Matterhorn will always be my favourite ride.

Been a couple of times, booked everything myself. First time flights direct from London with VA, second time far easier indirect from Manchester. Hotel stayed at HoJo oppsite Disneyland, Mimis Cafe next door to hotel where we ate most meals. I think I booked hotel with Alpharooms.com
Tickets we bought http://www.citypass.com/southern-california can't remember which agent I got them thru, UK agent was cheaper than US.
Both our trips were Oct half term.

We went April 2010, booked direct with Virgin. Started in San Fran then drove along the coast making lots of stops on the way, one being at Anahiem to Visit Disneyland. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency OC, lovely hotel not far from Disney.Four day pass was enough for us, manged to fit everything in that we wanted. Enjoyed both parks. Plaza inn really nice character buffet much like Crystal Palace theme, great interaction with characters and great food. Storytellers breakfast at the Grand Californian is also really nice.
Indiana ride in Adventure Land is nothing like the Indiana ride in any of the other parks, which I don't like. The Indiana Jones at Disneyland is Amazing, love it.

Paradise Pier was our favourite part of California Adventure park, really different to any other Disney Park, lots of different attractions, a different feel to it.

I've lost count of the number of times that we've been to DL and ITA that's it's packed during the summer months. We used to have a long weekend (4 days) there before DCA even opened! Now that we have to travel further we don't go during the summer so spend around 5 days there.

ETA We've mainly stayed at the DL Hotel; and Paradise Pier, but we've also stayed at the Candy Cane Inn and I think the Carousel Inn (at least I think that's what it's called) We've never had a bad stay at any of the hotels!

We have booked a 3 week Californian road trip - flying out for New Years 2013 in Vegas and then making our way up to Disneyland.

It's our first visit and we cannot wait! It's my partners 30th whilst we are there so celebrating a special occasion.

We booked our entire trip through Pillinger Travel. They are fantastic! They take a low deposit and plan everything for you if you so wish or you can plan everything yourself and can just book it through them.

I can't recommend them enough.

I would be sitting on the patio of the Fontana bar at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas watching the dancing fountains on a warm balmy night whilst sipping vintage Champagne

We went to Disneyland a few years ago and booked the trip ourselves as part of a 3 week California and Las Vegas trip. We stayed in the Grand Californian using DVC points which was amazing. Although as Disneyland is a lot smaller many people stay off site, I have heard good reviews from friends staying at the Candy Cane Inn or the HoJo. We stayed there for 5 nights in August, although one of the days we went to Knotts Berry Farm, and thought that was plenty of time to get everything done we wanted to at quite a relaxed pace. We hope to back sometime soon now that the building work in Californian Adventure is complete.
