another taxi to Universal question

Hi,

We are staying at WDW but going to Universal on 9/23 for the day. We've decided to take a Mears taxi instead of the shuttle since it is more flexible. The price is nearly the same as well from what I can see: 35.00 each way as opposed to 19.00 per person each way with the shuttle (there are 3 of us).

My question is, can I wait until I get to WDW on 9/22 and ask the desk to book one for me or should I call Mears in advance and book it with them? Also, when we decide to leave Universal to go back to Disney, are they lined up at the transportation area and clearly marked Mears, or do I have to call in advance like with the shuttle?? Also is is customary to tip the desk clerk for helping us with this?

Thank you for you help!!

So, you understand $35 is an estimate, right?

Okay. If there's not a taxi or three outside your resort when you're ready to go, Bell Services can have one in under five minutes. Heading back, yes, there should be a long line of taxis waiting at the base of The Hub.

Yes I do, I think it's still worth the flexibility though! Thanks for the information - good to know!
