The calendar where you book the party online under "dining events"
The party is not yet able to be booked expect that towards the end of this month/beginning of Oct. Nov dates just opened up on 9/2

Waiting on the Dec party to open (only need that and airfare!). We are debating on doing a MVMCP night or non party night....any thoughts as to why one would be better than another? I was just thinking of "wasting" party time at the Desert Party.

I've done the Wishes Dessert Party the last two years on a MVMCP night, and personally, I love it. My theory is, I'm going to slow down and take a break from the rides to watch Wishes...why not do it in a controlled, non-crowded venue, where I can sit down for awhile and enjoy some yummy, delicious desserts? After the show is over, I can then make may way back out into the crowds for more fun...

Do they do the Wishes desert party on nights of the MVMCP for people who aren't going to MVMCP?
Basically if I am not going to MVMCP, do they do the Wishes desert party for the fireworks at the end of the regular park closing? If the park closes at 7PM, is there a Wishes desert party at 6PM?

What about the nights that they don't do MVMCP. Is wishes and the Dessert Party just earlier?
And are the parks more or less crowded during MVMCP. Is paying the extra $$ in your opinion worth it? We are a couple in our 40s with no kids and wondering if the extra $100 for MVMCP is worth it with the WDP.

This year, we are planning on just doing EMH. MVMCP was far more crowded than Extra Magic Hours. On our trip 5 years before that was not the case, this year it was. Still, MVMCP is less crowded than normal hours, and the lines are shorter. What is good about MVMCP? MVMCP has fake snow, free hot chocolate and cookies, the parade, character appearances, and special merchandise. It's certainly charming, but it's not up there on my list of peak vacation experiences (e.g., an evening in Paris or Dublin). In any event, we decided to save the $$ this year in favor of being more rested for our EMH day. I'm not sure our kids wont miss MVMCP, and I'm glad we did it last year, but I'm okay with not spending the extra $200+ it costs for us. And, if we were not at a resort, and could not do EMH, we might make a different calculation. |

I'm not sure I'd interrupt one thing that I paid for (MVMCP) with a second thing I paid for (DP). I like the DP as a finale on a regular night. Last night at WDW, last thing in the park, park closes, go home. But, everybody has a different take. And it is a relaxing break from the crowds to have your own space and to feel like a bit of a VIP. |
