Can you combine reservations made by different owners?

Say I made a 3 day reservation at SSR through one owner then found a different owner to rent me 1 additional day immediately following the first 3. Could I somehow combine these reservations or at least make it so I didn't have to switch rooms?

I believe they can be linked if they are for the same room category, but each of the owners would need to contact DVC to request they be linked. You might have to check-out and then in again as a formality, but shouldn't have to change rooms if they get linked.

So, I probably can't get them linked, but I can likely not have to switch rooms and just swing by the front desk to check in/out in the morning at worst? That I can handle.

I've done it. If it's the same room type, it will be combined as 1 reservation so you don't need to checkout.

My DH and I have separate memberships and I've linked a reservation that was made partially under each of our memberships. Everything has to be exactly the same.

That's good to know for the future. We have good friends that took us before we were members. Could make a nice long trip by combining separate reservations.

If they are the same room type, you should easily be able to get them linked but if not, just ask at check in if they can make sure you don't have to move then go to the desk early on the change day and ask again when checking in the second time.

Yes, in 3 weeks we have a 4 night stay in a studio at VWL. The first 2 nights were booked with our points and the last 2 nights were booked with our friends' points. The reservations are linked together, and show as a single 4 night stay on the confirmation MS emailed to me.

I was involved in this a little over a year ago. Another member was sending his sister and was short on points for the final night. I called and made a res for her for the final night with my points. I had to put the other member on the call to get the reservations linked, as they needed confirmation from both of us.

I was able to link multiple reservations no issue w/o the owner being on the phone. It wasn't an issue at all. But when the owner made the reservation MS told them that they would need us on a 3-way call to do the linkage. I'm not sure what the difference in protocol is though.

Because you'll likely (though not certainly, since they may be able to do something at check in) need cooperation from both members, make sure both members understand that is the plan and are willing to work with you to execute to it. If one of your two members has enough points available to rent to make the whole reservation, they may feel a little put out at the additional hassle when you could have made the whole reservation through them.

We did this just last year. We booked a Grand Villa with our friends who are also members. We booked half the trip with our points, and they booked half with theirs, and we had the two reservations linked. Worked out great, and it was easier than doing a point transfer.

We had linked reservations last week from two different contracts we own, and we had to go down and check in and out and get new room keys every time. Three times in 6 days got to be a bit much.

Just be careful if you have to check out/in for the other portion of the stay. I had a split stay due to different UY. I shouldn't have had to check out/in. Disney disabled my credit use on my room key. We ate at the Biergarten and I could not charge to my room. Luckily I always carry a spare CC just in case. The poor kid Patrick that had to deal with us at VWL when we got back lol. We were told Disney is aware of this problem and should have it fixed within the year OMG was I pissed when I heard that.
