Well, a year later, we made it up to the kids with "the best vacation ever" -- a 5 day cruise then 10 days at AoA -- i think we made up for not taking them

They also benefited because , as two adults alone, we were able to go to more of the non kid-centric restaurants and non ride attractions and had a much better idea of what they, as older kids would enjoy -- which made this trip even better !

Its not that there is nothing to do.. or that we won't find something to do..

I am terrified of the repeat of the last experience with an adult trip.
When we go as a family, if there is an attraction the kids want to go on, and one of US didn't want to that was fine.. the one who didn't want to didn't.. saw a show, browsed the shops, had a snack as suggested and we would meet up after the attraction,

In this situation... we don't have that option. I would never just leave her to go on a ride/attraction alone. She would never leave me to go one an attraction alone. Although there are attractions that one of us LOVE and the other HATES.

First what a sweet birthday gift, I'm sure you will have a terrific time and that it won't be a repeat of your last adult only trip, that being said, you might have to make concessions about what you are willing to ride and see since it will only be the two of you this time.

The only time I've been to Hollywood Studios with my husband, I didn't get to ride ToT that day because he wanted nothing to do with it and since I was willing to give up ToT he agreed to riding RNRC twice that day since it's one of my favorite rides even though he's not a huge fan of roller coasters.
