How is the wifi around WDW?

I know it's new. My DD is in college and has homework deadlines while there. That is the reason I ask. We will be at ASMu. Thanks.

WIFI in the resorts is really hit and miss. I wouldn't count on it being super fast. In the Grand Floridian back in December it was tolerable in our room if I sat in a certain spot close to the patio door. In our room the previous night at CSR it was almost nonexistent and the speed was laughable. If she has to have reliable internet I'd suggest bringing an ethernet cord and springing forthe wired ($9.95 per day if still available) or bring your own personal hot spot

We were in Disney all last week and I was completely disappointed with the wifi reception. We stayed at POR in building 27 so not a good comparison but the signal strength was poor and the wifi not useable. Same was true a Magic Kingdom. Sorry, but hope this helps

We were there last week and it worked fine. Not as good as the one in your home but tolerable. The only big problem I had was on two mornings I could not Skype. It was strange but I don't believe it was WiFi related. I kept picking up the TWDC WiFi though once in a while and it would throw me off the one for guests and ask for the log in. That started happening more towards the end of the week.

We went Aug 19 - 26.

We found at POR - it was hit and miss, some spots were better than others.

However, at MK and Epcot it was great reception, just about everywhere.

Wifi at WL was pretty lame. Some days, I spent more time connecting, disconnecting, connecting, disconnecting to try to get some wifi "juice" than I did actually being on the 'net. I ended up being able to check emails a handful of times throughout the trip, and maybe had 1-2 periods of time where I could actually access the internet for more than 10 minutes. Very frustrating.

Just came back from 9 days at the Boardwalk .
As others have said it was hit and miss. Sometimes fine, other times you might get connected but have very slow service, and sometime no connection at all.
I was speaking to another lady at the pool who had the same complaint.

Have a great time!

We were in the Cars section of AoA a couple of weeks ago, and wifi in the room was not great. Every day we had to "forget" the network and reconnect, and even then it was pretty slow. It was much better in the lobby and food court areas. Perhaps your daughter can go to the lobby or dining area to upload/download/work as needed.

As for MK, it was strong when I could get a signal, but there were places I couldn't. It was nice when I could find it, but it's not 100% coverage. Epcot didn't have it the day we were there - it was announced the next day.

Overall, it's nice when it works, but still has some deficiencies. I think as time passes it will continue to improve.

Side note: we were not impressed with our AT&T 4G reception in most parks, but it was awesome at AK. We figured out why as we pulled out of the parking lot and noticed this unusual "tree." Apparently it's a disguised tower in a castmember-only area.

Wish they'd drop some of these around MK and Epcot.

I haven't experienced it in the parks yet, but at CBR & the Poly the wireless was great, I didn't have any problems with it. At AsSp it was a little slower, but still worked really well!

1) You paper is going to take a LONG time.
2) Resort WiFi can be medium speed or dead slow.
. . . depends upon time of day
. . . depends upon how many others are on the web
. . . depends if the others are doing email or video/games/etc
3) The park WiFi is R-E-A-L-L-Y S-L-O-W
. . . just too much traffic from too many visitors

It's very MEH. We stayed in Port Orleans Riverside and it was extremely hit or miss. To be fair, we were in the lower level of Acadia House so, maybe that had something to do with it?

It was HORRIBLE on my cellphone and my laptop was just MEH.

Stayed in POFQ and it was shockingly bad most of the time. It would connect, then disconnect, then I'd re-connect, then it would disconnect and this dance would go on and on.
At MK it wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't rely on it to actually do any work. I have never stayed in any hotel where it was as bad to be honest.

The wifi stinks. When you do get it connected it won't stay connected. When it finally does stay connected it is soooo slow. I swear it was like dial up. It was the same experience in both hotels, Akl and Blt.
