That is a LONG flight! I would be so tired! SOOO, where are you staying in NYC...I am such a pro now, I have spent an entire 17 hours there...
Glad Christian is spoiling you, you deserve it!
The traveling is more ups and downs and waiting in airports than anything, which isn't fun, I'd rather be flying straight but as long as I get there! I'm staying in a hotel called the pod = because the rooms a tiny, tiny, just room for a bed and a little bathroom but hotel rooms in Manhattan are sooooo expensive I'm trading space for being able to actually afford a room in Manhattan! It's a very new hotel and the location is pretty good, a couple blocks from Grand Central.

Since your parents must be in my age range,I expect your dad to do well.you know 60+ is the new 40!
I came home today with many bottles of pills,a non-therapeutic inr, and a new respect for all the medical personnel I've worked with for years. I do feel better but coming home really wore me out!
What have I learned 1. Chest pain is sneaky, mine started as shortness of breath and only later did I have pain in my left arm, never in my chest. 2. Baby aspirin is a lifesaver. 3. Make sure you shave your legs! It's disturbing to look down and see hairy legs when they get you up the first time. Heparin and razors probably is not a good combination.
My prayers are with you all and I hope everyone has a good evening!
Glad you made it home today, get better

[QUOTE=blessedmom4;46065758][B]Okay...Since this is supposed to be a pre-trip report how about some plans? I was trying to wait and see what happens with my Dad; however, it APPEARS that isn't going to be resolved until at least the 13th.

September 21: (Friday) Pick Pete up from work at 5 PM (He is nearly an hour closer to Florida from work). We will drive until I get tired and crash the night somewhere...hopefully with a morning breakfast bar to save on cash. I will pack a picnic dinner for the car.

September 22: Head on in to Kissimmee, check in, hit the Walmart for food (we will have TWO kitchens) and have dinner with a sweet friend!

September 23: Volunteer at GKTW!!!! The Children will be at the Ice Cream Parlor from 12-3 and Pete and I will be at the pool. Then we will hang out and enjoy the fun at GKTW!!

September 24: My Birthday! I haven't been away for my Birthday since I was single...this is the day I have been working on and it is FINALLY happening! Due to some creative wrangling we will be hanging out at Discovery Cove instead of Sea World! We will interact with FAR MORE Sea Creatures than we would at SW and there is a new exhibit. This was one of our most enjoyable days on Lisa's MAW and the children all voted to do this over SW if I could make magic happen...and I did....FINALLY! The children are NOT swimming with the dolphins this time, just a resort day. Everything is finally booked! The children chipped in BD money and we rented a Cabana. SOOO, I don't have to prepare breakfast or lunch on my BD and they will be too full for dinner (well, the guys will not, but us girls will). I can sit on my lounge chair and drink fruity drinks all day...that somebody brings me! Sounds like heaven to me!

September 25: Not sure, the boys MIGHT do Disney Quest, they have water parks, fun and more left on some tickets...

September 26: Not Sure, Maybe FINALLY use Lisa's passport that lets us get free admission and do the Fun Spot or Ripleys museums. ???GKTW to do Village Idol if they still have it...

September 27: BBB for Lisa and Rachel and dinner at 1900 Park Fare!!! This was a MUST do on Lisa's MAW trip and she was entirely to sick/tired to go. She was ECSTATIC, jumping up and down when I told her she didn't have to. As part of the BG, Lisa B and Kris gave us a gift card to cover a chunk of the bill for this restaurant and we did NOT use it on the MAW trip, since we didn't go. If you give me a gift, I use it for the reason it was intended. Since we didn't go to PF, I still have the card.

September 28: DISNEY WORLD!!!! But WHICH PARK(s)???

September 29: Check out Day. Downtown Disney for a bit to hang out and then a stop at the Earl of Sandwich for food to eat later in the car...while we are wondering WHEN will we ever get back to Florida??? And then we will make the long drive home...

Judy
I know you are concerned about your Daddy--Daddy's are very special people--but it sounds like you have a very grounded attitude/coupled with knowledge.

Your Disney plans sound wonderful
Ann

A very quick good evening Wow! GKTW has lots of activities going on all the time! Hopefully you can have some fun there.

So what did you have for dinner?

Hope you all are staying safe this evening -- I hear there are some treacherous lightning and hail storms in your area.

I can't believe you are turning 30! See, I knew you were older than me all along!

I am glad to hear it has not spread to the bone, and I'll be praying for the upcoming meeting of the doctors that they will have wisdom to plan the best possible course of treatment for him.

I've had this song running through my head all week (and been wearing out the track on my itunes account!), and it seems so appropriate to share with all of you. I tried to copy and paste the lyrics, but it won't let me for copyright reasons, so I'll just put the youtube version here for anyone that wants to hear it (or you could Google the lyrics). It's called "Blessings" by Laura Story.
I love this song too! The words really speak to you (general you) in a range of different situations. Great song!

Oh yes, Christian would do whatever I asked of him...now if I could just get my sibs to make a few sacrifices.
Sounds like you have a packed, but fun week! I really hope your father's surgery doesn't get scheduled for the week you guys are on vacation.

Man, I was just thinking that there seemed to be a lot of 29 year olds around here. Huh.

Not sure about that plan yet, BUT can you make sure they have a couple of guitars on hand....just in case... Do we need to bring music for Lisa to sing to? Could I sing as well? If so make sure there are earplugs for the audience... (By the way, I will NOT be singing, JK).

SO MANY need it!
I will see what I can do. Not sure if the Village has any guitars but I will see if they can find one to borrow. Depends on what song Lisa would want to sing, the Village might have it, but if not they can play what she brings. You are more than welcome to sing with them as well, if ya like. Yes, I will have a break while you are there. I planned it that way. Hope that everyone is doing well.

WE BELIEVE IN MIRACLES! ~~~~~~~~ Nearly twice as many children die from Congenital Heart Defects in the U.S. each year as die from all forms of childhood cancers combined.

Popping in. Don't know how you do it, Judy! Schedule starts filling up here and keeping up falls by the wayside and my busy is nothing like yours! Thanks for the birthday wishes and I can't believe I'm older than everyone at 39. lol

So many prayers for your dad, for the best outlook. Continued prayers for Lisa's healing, and all of you. So happy to read about the good news on Scotty's levels. And herein lies the flaw of being behind and on my phone---and no coffee yet--my brain can't hold all I made mental notes of. Ruth, Andrea's house, Kathy's mom... I am lifting up every need mentioned!! God knows!!

Almost out of battery so a quick Happy Birthday to Lisa B! And the trip plans sound terrific!!!!!!

Love and hugs to all!

Good luck with all the appointments today, and Christian....you ROCK!

Judy, with all that you have going on, thank you for popping over to my PTR to wish my future daughter-in-law well on her surgery today (Markie sent me a picture of him sitting by her side in the PRE/op area)

Judy, I'm sorry to hijack your thread, but I know how busy you are and wasn't sure when you'd find the time to pop into my PTR. So I wanted to share the news about our future daughter-in-law, Alisha, with you here.

Alisha had her surgery and is back to the room (she'll be out of it for another 45 minutes or so). It was endometriosis as they predicted. They were able to zap it all out of there and they told her she'd be able to give ME lots of grandbabies.

THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS, and for stopping at my PTR to wish Alisha well.
