Handwiches at the launching pad in MK. It was like a salad in a bread cone.

Alas, I have been a few times now since they stopped offering the french toast loaf. I still miss it!
I guessed my way there, then learned about Crawfish Monique ( a.k.a. Crawfish Monica and really learned how to do it.

I never tried the French toast loaf. Hmm. . . maybe we could figure that one out.

I have the french toast loaf recipe!!

http://gingerbreadbagels.com/2011/05...ch-toast-loaf/

Doesn't sound all that great, but believe me, it is!!! The recipe explains to me why Disney stopped making it.

The same recipe was on a Disney blog, word for word, without the pictures. I like pictures. lol

Thank you for leading me the correct direction!! Is this the recipe? Have you tried this with shrimp, as it is hard to get crawfish?

Si and Iam waffles at Tony's Town Square for breakfast, sitting out on the front porch, watching Magic Kingdom "wake up". Absolutely sublime. This was before the DDP, and you could get walk-ups. We didn't have early reservations to get in before the park opened, the park was open and it was just lovely. Back then, Crystal Palace was not a buffet, and we ate lunch there everyday and enjoyed it very much. We walked up to the castle, and ate in what is now CRT, easily. We ate everywhere with walkups.
That is what I miss the most. Being able to easily walk up to a restaurant and getting in to eat within 10 minutes.

I too miss the old Coral Reef.

Not sure if this is anything like the 50's Prime Time Cheese dish you miss, but in case, here is this one:

Fried Boursin - 50s Prime Time Cafe
Ingredients
4 oz. water
4 oz. lettuce mix
3 beaten eggs
2 oz. raspberry sauce (Melba sauce)
1/2 lb. flour, seasoned
1 qt. soybean or canola oil
1/2 lb. bread crumbs, seasoned
1 French Bread, Sliced, toasted (9")
2 Boursin cheese wheels (5 oz. each)

Method:
Cut cheese wheels in half crosswise with a hot dry knife. Dredge cheese in flour then egg and then bread crumbs. Repeat in egg then bread crumbs. Set aside in refrigerator. Fill a cast iron skillet with oil 1/4" high. Heat oil to 350° and fry cheese until golden brown then flip over and fry the other side. Remove from oil and place on paper towel. Place salad mix on center of plate and arrange bread slices around cheese, top with sauce.

Tips
I tried this last night and I did it by cutting the boursin in to 6 peices and cooked it that way. It meant that they were more bite sized peices but still had the same great taste. Didn't try it with the sauce or salad either and found I only used one egg as it is just as a binding agent to attach the breadcrumbs to the boursin.

From this 2007 thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?

I can't wait to see if I can find other missing favorites here!!t=1575103
