Royal Pacific Resort First Timer
Hey all...just booked a room at the Royal Pacific Resort for the end of September for my birthday...I know it said on the website that half of the total price will be charged after you book...is the rest paid when i check in? Any specific rooms I should request? I won't mind where the room location is but it would be cool to have a view of the theme parks...thanks for any help :-)

The balance is charged at checkout. You can request a park view at checkin. I prefer tower 1, but tower 3 is also fine. IMO, try to stay away from tower 2.

We were in 1313 which is 3rd floor, (lobby level), and it was super convenient. Our view was out towards the front of the building facing the driveway, but you couldn't see anything through the tropical garden out front. It was actually lovely. I was initially charged my deposit when I booked, then charged the rest when I checked out with my other room charges. I wrote a full review on Trip Advisor that I'm waiting for approval on from the site, so I'll keep this concise. There are free water stations and sunscreen at the pool, and noodles, beach balls, and life jackets are complimentary as well. There are pool games every day from 12pm-6pm, and a "Dive In" movie at the pool every night at 9pm. Absolutely make time for the pool, it's amazing. The boat to Citywalk departs every 20 minutes, but often times comes sooner. There is a lighted, paved walkway if you prefer to walk. Each takes nearly the same amount of time. The only negative for me was that the Bula Bar and Grill at the pool charges automatic gratuity for everything you purchase. Had I known this before hand I would have been smarter about it and kept an open tab. Also, each mixed alcoholic drink is $15, because it's served in souvineer glass. Any drink after your 1st is $10. The better deal if you have two adults drinking is just to order the super mondo sized glass for $30 and share it. Refills on that are $15 and it turns into a better deal. Also, the portions from the Grill are HUGE!!! The nachos are big enough for 4 people to share, and are only $10 making this the best deal in the whole hotel. The Orchid Court lounge offers a continental breakfast in the mornings. The best deal there is to get the $10 bundle which is any size coffee or juice, one pastry, and a huge fruit cup. The coffee is Starbucks and you can get hot or iced. Also, and the biggest bonus for me, every room at the RPR has a Keurig with Emeril's coffee K-cups! |

disneyfan, when you check in, ask for the pool/park view.
if the hotel is not full, it is quite possible for them to upgrade you free to those rooms. the lobby is awesome! i love the middle of that lobby, the water, statues are so unique. i know you will enjoy your stay there. rph is my home and i'm sure it will be yours too after your first stay.

I'm with the poster above in that the RPR has basically become my official hotel when I go to Orlando, which is odd because I always assumed it would be Universal's "value" resort and tried to stick with Hard Rock and the Portifino. We'll actually be going back in a couple weeks and staying concierge level. A beautiful, relaxing hotel that I couldn't recommend more highly.

Just see my signature, we cannot stay away from the hotel, too many stays to list. That's the problem when you live so close.

Last week I booked 5 nights here fo mid October. Relatively last minute but it was no problem at all. Our first time to Universal so I'm happy to read the good reviews!
