Hi All
Can you pay a room only deposit by check? I usually reserve online and pay deposit with my debit card and don't see a check option. But I thought I had read you could somewhere. We had to cancel our debit cards because someone got into our account and it will be next week before we get replacements. Credit cards are a total last resort for us but I don't want to lose the good rate I can get for my dates right now! Thanks for any help! |

I've put a complimentary hold on room only reservations. I think the time frame to pay on it, is seven days. I always call to reserve rooms. Yesterday, I got a statement in the mail from Disney with a payment stub attatched. I'm sure this is what would occur to pay by check.

We used to pay ours by check all the time as we didn't have a credit card and didn't want to give out our debit card information on the phone. I think they give you a week, as DisneyRunner2009 said, but don't quote me on that LOL.

Another option is to purchase a disney gift card for the deposit amount. You can buy the gift card with your check (at a disney store or grocery store, etc). Then use the gift card to pay for the deposit. That way you don't have to worry about getting the check to them in time so they don't cancel your reservation.
Just hold on to the gift card when the balance is zero. You'll need that gift card if you have to cancel and need to get a refund for the deposit. |

I have heard of people using multiple gift cards to pay a balance. So if you have $50 ones from target, you can use those too. Just make sure you keep the cards just in case you have to get refunded. Disney's policy is to refund to the gift card. There was one poster who had to go through a whole mess to get her money back since she threw out the cards once used. |

One good thing about paying by check -- if this is still true --
If you decide to switch from room only reservation to a WDTC package, those funds are transferrable between the two. |

That's good that you can use multiple gift cards to pay the deposit....in case you ever needed to pay one rather quickly you could run to Target and grab a few of those cards. I love ordering the ones off Disney Gift Card's site and they don't charge shipping or fees if you pick one of their designs. If you design your own or pick a personalized card then they do charge....I think it's $4.95 or something like that. That makes sense.....since they like to refund to the method you used to pay, and it probably cost them more to send out a paper check back to you. |
