Okw studio- no window
Does anyone know the number or percentage of studio rooms at OKW that do not have a window, just the door to the balcony for natural light? We stayed in one two weeks ago that was very dark. We never had a studio before without a window. The mirror that was in place of the window seemed odd.

Ours had a mirror, my sisters had a window! The mirror was fine for us (teenage daughter), but we did open the balcony blinds every day.

I agree with Dean in the percentage is likely quite small. I only remember being placed in a studio with no front window once or twice in all the years I've owned.
I think they were in the crossbar part of "U" shaped buildings, but I may be mistaken. As long as they have a balcony, I'm happy. I really don;t notice the front windows in studios all that much

I think the only buildings that have those studios are the ones that are kind of "H" shaped. I did notice when we stay in the 1 bedroom units in those buildings, that there is a studio tucked into a corner that wouldn't have a window.

We never noticed that OKW #3532 didn't have a window. We've stayed in studios at BLT, AKV, VWL, BWV, and SSR and never had a window, so we weren't expecting one at OKW.

I had one once. There were 4 adult women in the room and having the extra mirror was wonderful when getting ready in the morning. It is building 35, which is one of the "U" shaped buildings.

Sorry, you are right...They are "U" shaped, not "H" shaped, and building 14 is where I first noticed it. We have never gotten one of those, but then we almost never stay in studios either. It would probably be less of an issue if it was the second bedroom of a lock-off.

We rarely stay in studios these days, but we've had the "no window" ones at least twice before. They are way too dark for me!
However, we were staying only a night or two at most so we just dealt.

I was in building 35 in April and there was no window
I missed the extra light so I was thrilled to be in building 43 in August with a window

There are four buildings with that configuration. I labeled them as Type "D" Buildings in my report, but they are the U shaped buildings on the OKW map. These are 3 story buildings and the windowless studios are on the first 2 floors only as I recall. There are 4 studios on each of those floors, but I think there are only 2 studios (on each floor for a total of 4 in each building) without the window and there are 4 buildings with this configuration - so a total of 16 studios at OKW (out of 230 total studios) have no window, if my memory serves.
Here is a link to the OKW Building Configuration report. Buildings 14, 18, 35 and 38 are the affected buildings. Type D buildings are all 3 stories. 1st Floor- 2,1,S,S,1,1,S,S,1,2 2nd Floor- 2,1,S,S,1 1 S,S,1,2 3rd Floor- 1,S,S,1 1 S,S,1 Buildings 14,18,35 and 38 are all Type D.

![]() Then I think that would make 6 of the windowless Studios in each of those buildings (2 on each floor) with a total of 24 of the 230 OKW Studios. I have never stayed in one of those Studios but have stayed in 1BRs in buildings 14 and 35. From the photo, it looks like the windowless studios are the ones in the section that make up the base of the "U". The adjacent room with the shutter in the photo would be a Studio (#3531) connected to a 1BR (#3530). Your Studio would be connected to another 1BR (#3533). Based on that, the windowless Studios would be #XX13, XX16, XX23, XX26, XX32, XX35 (where the XX represents the Building number - 14, 18. 35 or 38. At OKW, villas are numbered with the first two digits representing the Building number, the thrid digit representing the floor and the last two representing the villa starting with the first villa on the right (as you face the building). So the first villa on the first floor on the right in Building 11 will be number 1110. Most buildings have a Studio on each end on the first and second floor, but in these four buildings there are 2BRs on those floors. Here is the corrected version of my post above: There are four buildings with that configuration. I labeled them as Type "D" Buildings in my report, but they are the U shaped buildings on the OKW map. These are 3 story buildings and the windowless studios are on all three floors. There are 4 studios on each of those floors, but I think there are only 2 studios (on each floor for a total of 6 in each building) without the window and there are 4 buildings with this configuration - so a total of 24 studios at OKW (out of 230 total studios) have no window. Thanks again for the correction (and the photo)!
