So sorry he is being a bit of an ***!! Sad but true story... when I was reading that my husband watched my eyes get wider and I told him I was glad he didn't do that... well guess what? It started off with a well it IS spendy.. and I don't want to keep doing this same vacation... yep you guessed it, BIG fight over finances... It ended with me telling him he needs to STOP OKing things just to get upset about them later - once we decide to do something together thats IT and I don't want to hear it! I left for a few hours (I had a hula performance I had to get to anyway, I didn't leave on purpose) and by the time I got back he had spent two hours trying to find a bag that is out of production that he knows I want and was pulling weeds in the yard (he HATES pulling weeds and had been out there for an hour and a half!).

WHY do men do this? Whats the point of starting a fight when you are going to regret it/change your mind later?

Jen, men can be such a**es! My DH is the same way, has to be in control, but after 46 years I know how to handle his moody crap. Now that I'm paying for vacations he has ot do what I want! Thus all the Disney trips!

Boo to Mr. Crankypants! Tell him to take him out, and toss him under a tractor and plow him under!

Seriously though - is he not feeling well? Is the other hip troubling him? My dad had quite a few heart issues about 10 years ago, and he always got super CRANKY right before he'd find out that he needed to go in to get another angio or stint. Whenever he gets into a super long bad mood we always check on if he's in any discomfort (he would get the various twinges and aches that are precursors to heart trouble), leading to his crankiness.

On a brighter note...

YOU'RE GOING ON A CRUISE WITHOUT CHILD OR HUBBY! And a Disney Caribbean cruise to the warm tropics! WITHOUT CHILD OR HUBBY

Glad you got such a great price! Let me know how the driving to Columbus in one AM works. We're looking at that again through SW for our March FLA trip. Can't wait for another TR!

Me too, I'll send some your way.
Yep. tums would be good. I have actually been trying to keep up with walking/excercising and using my ange that way. I am so proud that I didn't resort to eating my blues away.

I can see that too. Kids just can't keep their mouths shut when needed.

Hum...sounds like Claire is learning the "open mouth insert foot" move very early in life.
It's many things, number one being contril. He just likes to have the say about everything. I told him back and May when I asked...that I wasn't really asking permission, but letting him know. I guess that went right out the window.

He'll miss me, but he'll be fine. He has no desire to go...and in his weird thinking, if he doesn't want to go, then everyone should be happy and just sit at home too.
And he's blamining it on money too. But he isn't forking over a dime for it.

And he has some strange ideas in the back of his head that I might go get wild. I am so not that way. We do know people who's wives go and drink non stop, and jsut get wild the whole trip....but thats not me. But I think he thinks still that i could be doing it and he may never know.

OH no!!!! Skip won't go that far for an apology...but most of th time he never thinks he was wrong. I have learned that early on that he always is right, even when it's soooo wrong..and he will complain to his friends about things and they all stupidly agree for the most part. Or at least he thinks they are agreeing.

I NEVER change my mind about things like this...I am stubborn too. I am still clueless as to why he thinks it's so wrong.

Oh yes they can!
If this was something he had planned though...he would never even ask for my opinion or permission.

Yes, he is in constant pain. his other hip hurts but the Dr...yeah that great one..cough cough....says it's just fine. he also is having shoulder issues and can't see a specialist till Oct.

I am so ready to get away. I will miss them both...claire more so...but it will be good for me. I really look fondly back at my AEP trip because not only was it a great trip...but just being with other adult women and not caring for other family members was great!

Sorry I have been missing in action. So much is going on around here.
Skip is slowly becoming in a better mood. I am just not mentioning the trip....He may be surprised one day when I wake up at 5 AM to leave.

But work wise, I just can't seem to catch up. So until that gets taken care of. I can't play around too much on here.

I thought by this time I would have so much done, but each day I have added to my list and getting behind instead of ahead.

I am glad he is leveling out - hooray for taking it out on walks instead of food!

We aren't going anywhere is there any work we can help you with?

I have been thinking about what I need for my Nov. trip over the summer.
If you remember from last year on our spring vacation (Dream. WDW and SeaWorld), I had run out of space on my memory cards and had to have some DVD's made of pictures to free up some more room. Since that time I bought a couple more cards...and had 1 old card go bad. I am still worried if I will have enough for such a long trip.

I ended up getting 2 more a month or so ago to add to the collection. I think I should have enough...even more than enough, but I still worry and am almost tempted to buy one more before I go.

I shoot in jpeg, rather than raw, which means less space taken up on each card...but I still worry. I think I averaged about 4G worth each day last year. I think I have 44G worth right now, but will be gone for about 14 days.
Most likely one more 8G will be ordered before I go to be on the safe side.

I also ordered (no picture) 2 more batteries for my SLR. I have 3, but I just want to be sure I have plenty of power, and I did have issues last summer of running down 3 batteries in 1 day. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hopefully I can gage how much I might be using on this 7 night cruise in Sept. I will actually be gone 8 nights. If I use at least half of my memory on that cruise, then I will be sure to get another card.
I wil lalso have 2 point and shoots with me, but the picture quality is not near as good on those.
Gosh, my brain hurts just trying to figure this out this morning. LOL!

Yeah for getting more memory cards! I added a 32 GB card earlier this year, but still might pick up one more if I get a chance. (I do shoot RAW so it takes TONS more space). It seems....... that no matter how many cards I have........ I always come down to rationing my space by the last day. Just ONCE....... I want to shoot straight through without having to go back and squeeze a few more shots onto the cards I took out earlier.

Good reminder though. I might pick up one more DSLR battery before we go. I did just order one more phone battery. I want to be able to have one in the phone, take a spare, and leave a spare in the room charging. I didn't have any idea what to look for in a phone last year we got them, but was happy to find recently that mine has a separate battery.

I have the phone issue too, but my portable charger is super awesome. And Claire can hook some of her gadgets to it as well, so both of my portable chargers have been worth their weight in gold over the past year.
I will eventually be getting a new phone. We have nextel, which is basically going to be no existant by the end of the year. It's owned by Sprint, so we just will go with Sprint, which is who sends us our bills anyways.
I at first wanted an iphone, but many friends tell me the samsung galaxy is just as good. I haven't done a lot of research yet...I think if I run out and get a new phone anytime soon, a war just might break out.

When I got my last phone 2 years ago, I got a driod, and it was only $50 more than the cheapest phone, but MIL was having a fit. She does the bills for the farm and our phone is through the farm. I changed the plan to a better one, and though it only cost about $10 more, it gave many more options with it. I also took off one person on our plan, per Skips request, because the guy didn't work for us anymore. She had a fit about that, and that I was getting a fancy phone. What it came down to is she wanted on the plan. She asked Skip and Skip told me an absolute NO. She told me he told her yes, and I told her, he told me no and to take that phone off. And she pouted quite a bit and I was getting the blame. Even Skip kind of backed off his no after a week...and he was the one who told me no. I could care less who was on the plan.
Long story short...I know when I get a new phone...and the 3 of us on the plan all HAVE to soon, there will be lots of griping again. Nothing runs smoothly here.

Gee, I really don't get why you don't really want to bring this up for discussion right now......

Your family sure loves drama, don't they? Of course, we're no slackers here in that department either......

Um ....yes! Not me so much...but the married side of the family sure likes to be mad at someone daily.

Lets just say that out of the whole bunch, Skip is one who is more pleasant and in a good mood more often...you should meet his one brother.

Jen - I swear I go away for awhile and come back and you're planning another trip! So Jealous! BTW, my husband also suffers from Manopause - I've learned to just ignore him when he is acting out and being ugly and he slowly gets back to normal. Wish I was going to Disney again but no more trips until next June when we go to Vegas - although my daughter wants me to hint to my sister about another family trip to Disney in November 2013 at the end of the month so we can see the Christmas decorations - my sister has a ton of DVC points and we were supposed to go this November with her but i changed it to a spring trip with my son. So maybe next November .... in the meantime I will again live vicariously through your trip reports!

I was single and a single mom for so many years...that even though we have been married for 10 years now...it's hard to get out of that frame of mind. I didn't have people telling me no before...my hurdle was child care. if O got someone to watch the older 2 I could go.
