Last year we went on a cruise and got the free tickets. We had a new rep. and they had to research the information. We printed our email from him and took it to the space center. The tickets were supposed to be at the ticket booth but were not there. We had our confirmation email from him and they accomodated us.

I contacted my local Representative in January for a June trip. They weren't familiar with the program, so they contacted Nasa, who provided them the information about the constituent tickets. We received our confirmation number in April. On the day of our visit, I took the email with the confirmation number to the group sales window at Kennedy. We received our tickets, with no problems whatsoever.

Something in the back of my head says that you can ask your Senator for free tickets to Kennedy Space Center? Any truth to that is my brain fried? If you can get tickets....how do you do it?

Also...anything non-amusement park to do with a couple of homeschooled teenage girls? They love doing interesting museums, science centers, live theatre and are in Civil Air Patrol, so anything flying is cool too. They are not your typical teens that want to only play.....they truly love learning even on vacation, lol.......they just want something interesting.

If your kids are interested in flying there's a place about halfway between Tampa and Orlando called Fantasy of Flight museum. DH and I both work for the airlines and stopped there a couple of years ago to check it out. They have some really great aircraft on display. Website is fantasyofflight.com Hope this helps

Just found out--our tickets for December are confirmed! Thanks so much to the DisBoards.

This is something we had planned to do anyway, and now we are saving a ton on the tickets. Yay!

Thank you for this thread. My family and I are going to Disney next May and we plan to go to Kennedy Space Center for a day. I guess I better write my Senator in December to see if we will be lucky enough to get tickets!

I was just wondering how you guys worded you letter. Did you say you heard there is a program or what did you say. My husband served for the military for 13 years so I was wondering whether I should throw that it. I am not good at asking for free things lol

Here is what I wrote. I think the real difference on getting the tickets is that your congressman's aid knows who to contract if they don't know about the program. Then if there are any tickets left for the date you would like to go.

I sent my letter a couple weeks early and they called and said on August 1st I will ask for you and they did

I am writing you to ask a favor for our family. We will be going on a vacation to Florida in February. There is a program where our legislators can request free tickets to the Kennedy Space center for their constituents. I would really appreciate if you could try to get our family tickets. Since they only have a limited quantity available our best chance to get them is 6 months before our requested date.
If you have not heard of the program you would need to contact

We would be traveling February 8-Februay 18.1012. We would need 2 adult tickets and 2 more ticket for our kids. They would be ages 11 and 12 at the time we are traveling. If we need to pick a specific day to go our first choice would be Friday February 15th and our second choice would be Tuesday February 12th.

He is my congressman. He had a contact for tours of Washington DC on his website and I sent a email to that contact. Then mailed the same letter to his office. To be honest I'm not sure which worked. I did sent it a couple of weeks early incase I had to try a congressman from a different district or a senator but he came through.
