Doing a split stay. Need help with second resort.
Also posted in Resorts:
We are doing a split stay for our upcoming trip in Nov. First nights will be in 2 connecting rooms at WL. Last bit of trip will be in a 2 bdrm at SSR or OKW. We have stayed several times at SSR and really enjoy the resort. Love the pools, community hall, Artist Palette, walk to DTD, etc. We have never stayed at OKW and while there is an appeal in staying somewhere new, I am nervous of the unknown. We probably won't be back to WDW for at least 3 years. Which would you choose? __________________

If you enjoy the rooms of SSR, you will love the size of the rooms at OKW. That reason alone is enough to try out OKW. Think Jimmy Buffet laid-back Florida style.

We loved OKW! It was very relaxing to come home to after a day in the parks. We loved the laid back theme and the Jimmy Buffet music

For a 2 bedroom I would absolutely choose OKW. Not only are the rooms way bigger but there is a nice size balcony with a picnic size round table and a ceiling fan.

Stayed at SSR in two bedroom last year, and while very nice, can't wait to get back to my OKW in January- missed our huge balcony (which is like an extra room for us for breakfast and a late evening 'beverage'), and missed my palm trees!! (SSR theming doesn't have palm trees). The views are amazing at OKW from most buildings too, either a nice golf view or a nice pond or water view. The DVC ferry takes you to DTD or the bus ride is a quick few minutes. It's right beside SSR, so just as close as any bus ride from there to parks. The full-size laundry room is wonderful too (SSR just has it in a closet), and you get a huge comfy chair/ottoman, full-size couch and a loveseat in the living room, so much space to enjoy! So yes, OKW would be my pick.

I'd say give OKW a try. It's nice to try different places and OKW is very spacious.

Another vote for OKW.
Be sure to try Olivia's. The food is really good with great friendly service. We've enjoyed breakfast and lunch there several times.

OKW wins that race hands down in my book!
Besides, the thing I like best about SSR is Turf Club restaurant, and I can still easily get there from OKW by taking the boat, driving or walking the path from OKW. I'd choose OKW's villas over just about any in the whole DVC system.

We stayed at OKW 2bed and it was very spacious..beautifully themed...and the kids really liked the sandcastle pool slide. However if given the choice they would choose a tree house villa at SSR....if you haven't tried one yet they are fun. A bit more work as far as needing to take an additional shuttle but we felt it was worth it and never waited long...corse that was quite a few years ago! It was also a nice perk that they are 3 bedroom and are the same point price as the SSR 2bedroom..same occupancy size.

I will agree with the masses here and vote for OKW. The rooms are huge and you get the same great disney experience as at any other resort. Easy access, park in front of your room, olivias, rent water mice for the lake, all good.
