QS with no children's menu

I'm working diligently on a DP vs paying OOP analysis and I had a question.

If you go someplace that has no children's menu.....specifically Yorkshire County Fish Shop.....and you are only getting your kids food, can you specify that they use the children's QS credits? That way we can use the adult credits at another restaurant that does have a children's menu.

Thanks.

It won't really matter as they don't separate the kids and adult credits at CS locations.

For the purposes of posting on this board, the above is true. You do not have to designate which credits you are using if you are at a restaurant that has no children's menu.

Disney asks that you use credits for which you paid a child's price to order from a child's menu where one is available. So it appears you are requested to keep track of the children's credits from that perspective. As far as using them to buy adult meals where there IS a child's menu, it's the policy on the Restaurant Board not to discuss that type of credit use.

I understand this. That is not what I'm trying to do at all.

Here is the scenario. My kids all really want to go to Yorkshire for fish & chips. I looked on the menu and saw that there is no kids menu. So lets say we get 3 orders of fish for them for lunch. My husband & I were planning on sharing a platter from Tangierine for that same lunch. Not in an effort to cheat the system, just because it has been mentioned that it is ample food for 2 people.

So fast forward to the day of checkout. Let's say every other meal each of us uses one credit (be it a child's meal or an adult meal) and we still have that one QS meal left. It would be nice if my husband could get an actual meal and then the kids & I could each just do a snack or something (assuming left over snack credits or paying OOP). I was just curious if it would end up being a child credit left over since the fish would perhaps take the "highest credit" first since there was no child portion. Truly an innocent, abiding by the rules question.

I'm not sure... I would suggest asking over on the www.easywdw.com boards as they are much more open to discussing these types of questions. Although I frequent both boards, I find this board a little too intense at times.

Good luck!

I understand what the OP is asking. That is why the thread is still open. However these threads often lead into the other topic.

You won't have a child credit left open. For all purposes of them ringing you up there are no child credits or adult credits with CS. It is up to you to keep track of which credits you paid a child's price for and ensure they are used properly. Some readers have come up with charts to track their credit useage. Unfortunately I can't address the rest of that question without going into the policy for such discussion that the Restaurant Board follows. If you have that one credit left over and you believe you paid a child's price for it, you are on the honor system about how to spend it. That is as much as I am going to say.

The credits are not separate like TS credits are. However, when you purchase multiple meals at a CS location, you will only be able to get X adult meals and Y kids meals at a time. If the CS location does not have a kids menu, then it doesn't matter because at those locations the kids can order off the regular menu.

I thought you were allowed to use as many of your credits a day as you want. Is it Disney policy that you can only get one lunch if you want to eat two? I ask because my teenage son eats like he has a whole in his stomach,(and still he is a string bean) and I won't always use 2 credits per day. If I end up having to pay OOP, I'd rather do it at the end when I know how many credits I have left.

You can get more than one a day, just not more than your card allows at one time. If your son wants more food after finishing the first batch, just walk back up and order another one. And since Yorkshire doesn't have a kids' menu, I would count those as kids meals since the kids are eating them.
