if you are only going the first 10 nights of the event, and have the ap, rof w/ ex would be the one to buy. if you want to go throughout the month on the non peak nights, FF w/ex or just the FF pass. same with FF pass plus w/ex so you can also do fridays. a one night ticket is $88.99 unless you do the sns. ($36.99) go 3 nights non peak and you come out ahead. thursday don't really need the express passes for the beginning of the event. sundays does get it's crowds later in the evening.

I have a Premier AP... so I already get 1 freebie non-peak HHN ticket. I'll only be able to go on Oct 7th and 11th. (don't get into town until late on the 6th, and not sure my GF is going to want to go, so I'm lucky to be getting 2 nights during my trip to go 'play'). Based off my free ticket, If I pay for the AP discounted ticket the 2nd night, plus Express passes for both nights, I'm only $8 cheaper than just doing the FFP w/express. ROF isn't an option since the last night it's valid is the 7th and wouldn't cover my 2nd night. If I decide that since i'm going 2 nights, I don't need the express, then I can save even more $$. OR.... if I can talk my brother or someone else into coming with me 1 night, I could "sell" them my freebie AP HHN ticket, and then get the FFP w/express and come out spending even less money OOP.... |

The biggest question at this point is do I really need the Express both nights?
Last year with the stay and scream I never once used the express the 1 night I went and still saw all the houses (and walked thru the scare zones).... of course, It was also the 2nd weekend on a Thursday. Since i'm going 2 nights this year, It's harder for me to judge if the Express is really going to be needed both nights.... |

We are going to UO for only the second time this October. We will be staying at HRH from Oct. 6 - 13. My DH and DS(15) are interested in taking in HHN. Not sure what night yet. Would it be a problem to just wait until we are there to buy the tickets? Would the express be necessary if they went on the Sunday or Thursday? From what I understand they could stay in the park and get a bit of a head start on the houses over the general public, right?

that's when the local schools have a break in the week and many go to the parks and hhn. (not sure if the 11th is the week or the week after.) why don't you wait until the night you are in the park before you decide to buy the ep ..... you know the drill. go early sns hit the first 3 houses with no lines then, stay ahead of the crowds. sunday (7th) is still a nonpeak night but open to 1 am. be at finnegans and meet up with other homies from the dis that night. s&s meet up.

express shouldn't be a necessity for that date. people have work or school the next day and it is a nonpeak night closing the event at midnight. wait until you are in the park that night to see if you need to buy the ep. sunday the 7th is also a nonpeak night but has an extended hour to it. that would be the night that could have crowds once it is about 10ish. you could get a lot of the houses done by then by utilizing the sns set up. then you would only have a couple of waits to do the remainding houses. just a thought. you could also wait until you get to the park to buy the hhn ticket.

If I do the regular ticket route, I could definately wait on the Express until the day of. But if i want to do the FFP route, I'd need to decide beforehand. Thinking I may do the FFP if I can talk someone into going with me one night who I can give my freebie ticket too. otherwise, I'll do the individual ticket route. |

You can purchase EPs for HHN at any time. Be careful though...they are date specific and non-refundable.

It may be rare, but they do sell out on occasion. I learned that the hard way once myself, and then a few years later we had a friend join us at the last minute and he did too. The last time when it happened to my friend was maybe 4 years ago. When it happened to me it was back when they still sold the little booklets with the individual pages to tear out.

Does there seem to be any particular overall theme developing? I love the houses so far but the theme seems random.
