July 7, 2012 Disneyland trip report

On July 7 we went to Disneyland in the evening. We were lucky to get after 4pm tickets for my relatives who were visiting.

Being a local annual passholder I was prepared for long lines being this was a Saturday night and the resorts were overflowing with the opening of CarsLand. Much to my surprise when we arrived until when we left it was very very light! There were not as many people as I had expected and we didnt have to wait long for any rides. Within 45 minutes of arriving at the parking structure we had already rode Indiana Jones, Pirates in the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. It was an unexpected surprise that we took advantage of.
We rode all the rides that we wanted and stayed until closing when there were absolutely no lines on some of our favorites like Star Tours and Buzz Lightyear.
I had been avoiding the resort until after summer due to the large crowds drawn in by the opening of CarsLand in California Adventure. I am glad I was able to hit a day, by chance, to take my family and avoid the crowds.
Overall it was an A+ in terms of crowds in my book for a summer Saturday!!
