What to expect in October
Hello everyone. This is my first post on the Dis site and am excited to get to know you all. I have been listening to the podcasts and have been trying to get as much knowledge as I can for the trip that we have planned for mid to late October (19th-26th to be exact). The only times that I have been down there is during the summer and late spring, granted both times when I was much younger. I was hoping to get some advice on what to expect for this time of year. Thanks in advance and look forward to chatting with you all.

We went last year from October 19th-25th. The weather was AMAZING! I never felt hot or cold. I think it sprinkled twice for 10 minutes the entire trip. We did rope drop every day and walked on all the rides in the morning. Afternoons the lines still got long, but that's when we did shows or used our Fast Passes. (can't do that this year, though - have to go when they say!) We were all planned to go back in October this fall, but I got some spectacular flights for the end of September. Have fun! |

I'm glad to hear that weather wise it will be nice. Living in Wisconsin it will be nice to get away from here as it will start getting cold. |

Welcome!
![]() This is our favorite time of year to go! The weather is nice, still hot but not as bad as summer. There are a few showers that pop up but they move through quickly. The crowds do seem to be a little lower as well. I will pass along a BIG rookie mistake that I made last year. I try to tell everyone that goes this time of year. We usually try to leave our last full park day as "open" meaning we just figure out what we haven't seen or want to see one last time. The kids decided they wanted to go to Epcot to do one last Kim Possible mission. No big...except it was a Saturday during Food and Wine! It was so crowded we could barely move! We were told that locals come on the weekends to enjoy the festival. It took us forever to make our way around a small area of Norway that eventually we just gave up and headed back to resort to swim. I don't know what I was thinking! Never again!Other than that, it really is a nice time of year. Have a great time!!!

I noticed that you are going to be there just a week before us, according to your tracker. |

Sorry to jump onto your thread - but was the weather warm enough to swim or use the Disney waterparks in October?
