I love disney but

Am seriously considering cancelling!

This holiday was meant to be something to look forward to after the bad year we had! I don't want to go in to detail as I'm not trying for sympathy! But I have been looking forward to this trip for years taking my child to Walt Disney world for the first time!

So here's why

After much hunting find Disney themselves are cheaper so I go online to book can't book flight inclusive online with an infant fine. I ring can't book SSR more then 6 months in advance over the phone. Rang three times same answer yet booked twice before over the phone at 12 months plus! Told ring at 6 months fine!

Ring just before 6 months check price etc, will lose dining and gift card! Haven't added travel cot even that will lose our ddp and $$$ !

Email Disney will give me the upgrade at the price with the discount and keep the ddp and $$$! Receive invoice they have added nearly £2000 to the price for something that should of been £18! I am so upset! I don't know what to do now! Feels like forever waiting for them to reply to me!

Sorry to hear all the problems you're having! Sounds like a nightmare... I always book everything through virgin holidays as a package. I know it costs a bit more, but it's usually less stressful.

Don't get down on Disney, try and stay positive and work out what your options are and what you really want to do. Is it much more expensive to book as a whole package through virgin?

Know you're just venting, but there's always an answer. Don't give up. Can't imagine how excited I'll be when I take my kid to wdw for the first time. Need to have kids first though!

Thanks guys at the moment our invoice reads 4 and half thousand pound it frightens me just looking at it.

I'm just really upset by it all! I'm going to ring later today but I just feel like all the excitement has been taken from it now!

I have just done a dummy booking and the price for hotel in our invoice is more expensive then Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge

That does seem pricey. Disney certainly isn't cheap at the moment. Ours cost £4500 but going next September it gave me 18 months to pay it off... I'm sure there'd be a way for you to get that down.

Yeah I thought I got a good price when I booked now I feel ripped off! I never would of booked if it was originally this price.

Have you got a copy of the email where they said they would honour the price you found online? You need to send that to guest relations and ask for a new invoice based on that.

Yeah I have. I have spoke to the same person so I don't know if it's just a mistake their end just scary seeing such a large figure!

Thanks any way! I did ring but can't speak to who I am emailing so I don't want to confuse it more and start being passed about if you know what I mean!

I had this with Disney in 2009 (different issue but also an email agreement that gave me something else on paper)

After several fruitless attempts at getting hold of the person who had emailed me, I rang up and asked for a supervisor. Of course they want you to relate the whole story all over again and I told them I had repeated myself so many times and would hold for a supervisor. Eventually when I was put through, the problem was solved within half an hour. She asked me to forward her the email and while still on the phone she sent me a confirmation email and credited my invoice accordingly. Always take the name of the person you speak to as well as this makes it easier if you need to contact them again for any reason. Don't give up
