Ticket Upgrade Clarification Please

Now I am confused. LOL I thought that you couldn't upgrade your ticket if you had already used your last day. But I have read a few things which make it seem as though maybe you can?

Here is the scenario. We have 2 day base tix as part of our free dining package for next month. We will need to upgrade those to 10 day base tix once at WDW. The issue is that we arrive on a Monday and plan on hitting the parks that Monday and Tuesday. Then we had hoped to upgrade our tix on that Wednesday since my DH's paycheck will direct deposited at that point.

So that would mean that our tix would have been used up that point. Would we still be able to upgrade or no? And also, would the price difference just be the increase from the 2 day price to the 10 day price? Thanks!!

From Cheshire's Ticket Sticky:

In addition, effective August 1, 2011, if you have used all of your entitlements on a ticket the last day of use of entitlements is also the last day that you can do any sort of upgrade. So if you had a four day ticket and your fourth day of use was a Friday, from Saturday onward you cannot do any upgrade even though it is within the 14 day period. Note this does not apply to to tickets on the KTTW or to multi-day Florida Resident Tickets; in these cases the Guest name is preprinted on the ticket and they may add days after the last entitlement is used as long as they have a photo ID that matches the name preprinted on the ticket.

You should be good to go.

I agree with PP about upgrading your package tickets. And, Yes, the price difference will be the difference between a 2-day base ticket and a 10-day base ticket. Your Adult 2-day base ticket (plus tax) costs $187.44; your target ticket, the 10-day base ticket (plus tax), costs $338.67. Difference $151.23. A Child's ticket difference will be $319.50 - $174.66 = $144.84.

Here's a price chart, including taxes, from allears.net. http://allears.net/pl/ticketchart.htm#MYW1

OT: Don't you have a credit card you could use to upgrade the tickets before leaving the park (or before all the resort ticket counters close) on the second day of usage?

They don't need to do that though if they are booked on a Disney package, since that is one of the exceptions/exemptions.

No we stick to just cash only. We haven't used a credit card in years and don't want to get back into using them if we don't need to. We would have just upgraded before the trip but we are planning on ordering DH & DD12's DisneQuest tix and DD6's Parasailing tix ahead of time since DH gets a discount on both through his employer along with our. So I'd rather not be putting all that $$ out at once.

Thank you everyone!!! I didn't realize that you could upgrade certain tix after fully using them (but before the 14 day window is up). I really appreciate the info!!

Thanks so much for this link!! I was trying to find a site that listed the ticket prices with the tax included but didn't see anything.
