Day 6, Part 3 In Which I Give Up On Vodka

Where I last left off, my mom and I were filled to the brim with delicious food from Les Chefs de France and I was still in a daze from the love spell that was cast on me when I met our waiter. That experience, however, was really nothing compared to what happened with another gorgeous French CM a bit later... but that's a story for later on in the update.

We stayed in France for awhile... a long while, actually. We were just hanging out, wearing berets, smoking, eating baguettes. You know, French stuff.

Morocco is right next to France, and that's the pavilion I think we'd spent the least amount of time in overall, so we went over and explored there. Again, for awhile. We were just chillin'. Not worried about getting from attraction to attraction. Relaxing... It was quite nice.

It's lovely in Morocco. The shops here are all connected and seemed to go on and on. The whole thing kinda just looks like a giant hookah den which is AWESOME! I went to a hookah bar for the first time last year and it was weird but pretty cool.

Of course I had to take a picture of the lamps! Aladdin

Agrahbah! Why there is not an Aladdin ride in this pavilion is BEYOND ME. Why there is no Aladdin ride ANYWHERE except for the carbon copy of Dumbo in Adventureland is beyond me!! Aladdin is one of the best movies of all time! I really don't understand why there aren't any good Aladdin attractions. I hear the show at Disneyland is amazing, though. I wish they would bring it to WDW.

Sigh... such a flawless movie. And an amazing prince. Aladdin and Eric were always my favorite princes, but I must admit that Eugene Fitzherbert gave them some competition....my perfect man.

I really want to go to Casablanca someday! If I don't, I feel i'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow... but soon, and for the rest of my life.

I love these lamps! I think I may get one on my next trip.

I believe my mom bought some cute jewelry and a scarf here, and then we went right back to France so that I could finally try the famous GREY GOOSE SLUSHIE!

Before we got over to the stand, I spotted Belle and the Beast and I instantly started singing. This is not a rare occurrence for me, I sing all the time kinda like a real life princess!

I was singing the reprise of the song Belle, which is one of my favorite Disney songs. There may have been some twirling involved, but who can be sure? I was just in my own world. Then, all of a sudden I turn and I saw a CM walking by who stopped right in front of me and smiled.

I was snapped back to reality because he was CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE. Oh man. And then, as if right on cue, he said, "What a beautiful voice you have, Princess," BOWED HIS HEAD, and kept walking.

I woke up about 3 days later.

SO I wanted to meet more characters on this trip, but the Belle & Beast line was really long, so we just headed back to France because it holds two of life's greatest wonders: hot guys and alcohol!

I ordered the orange Grey Goose Slushie. Now, I am not a big fan of vodka. Well, let's be real, I am. But I'm not a big fan of the taste, because jesus. You know what I'm talking about. A cocktail with vodka in it has to be REALLY good for me to like it, so I only drink them occasionally. I was assured by MANY a disser that this was THE drink to have at Disney, and being that it was my first trip being 21, I knew I had to try it!

So I take a sip and instantly I was in love. It didn't even taste very much like alcohol, it just tasted like an orange creamsicle with a little bit of a kick. As I continued to drink, though, the taste of alcohol got stronger and stronger, and combined with the orange creamsicle taste... ooooh I did not like it. Oh, I did not like it at all.

Later, I was talking to my friend who said that the alcohol immediately starts draining out of the slush once they put it in the glass, that's why they have to keep the mixers constantly on in the slushie machines. Duh, I don't know why I didn't realize that. So the top ends up not being strong at all while the bottom is a good ol' pool of the hard stuff.

My mom had to use the bathroom, so she headed back to Morocco. I stayed in France, staring out on the lagoon, trying to finish my drink even though I wasn't thrilled with it.

As if on cue, the CUUUUUUTE French CM who called me Princess walked by and spotted me. I kind of did a dorky "oh hey" nod, and luckily I didn't spill my drink or fall over or anything else embarrassing.

So he comes over to me and we started chatting about where we're both from and stuff like that. I wondered what his job was, because he seemed to just be wandering around flirting with people. I was not complaining and I think Disney should hire more people with the sole purpose of doing this.

He asked how my slushie was and I told him I was going to give up on vodka. I declared this while drinking vodka, so I don't know how convincing I was. I told him how I love sipping on wine and champagne, but when it comes to vodka, sipping on it feels like slowly killing yourself which made him cringe a little. LOL. Sometimes I forget that people I just meet are not used to my blunt way of speaking. He laughed though, and said he liked my "off color" language. Well, all right.

I kept getting distracted during our conversation because his eyes were like pools of Heaven. I did tell him, though, that me swearing off vodka did not include jello shots. He wasn't even sure what I meant!!!! WHAT. When learning English, "jello shots" should be one of the first things they teach you. At least, I hope it was just the language barrier. If he just genuinely doesn't know what jello shots are... I don't even want to think about it. That would just be too sad!!!!!

My mom came back and was instantly like "OH HIIIII" in that mom tone as soon as she saw the gorgeous Frenchman. He introduced himself and they started talking and I started downing my drink.

Then, he excused himself, saying to us "Stay here, I will be right back."

In my mind I was like, "Stay? I WILL STAY FOREVER. I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU, MY LOVE."

Out loud I said, "Okay."

So we just hung out over there for awhile, drinking and soaking in the atmosphere. I took one last big gulp of the Grey Goose Slushie and chased it with water immediately. I'm sure the face I made once that went down was super attractive.

Again, as if on cue, he comes back and I notice he is carrying two glasses.

HE WAS BRINGING OVER CHAMPAGNE FOR MY MOM AND I!!!!!!!!!

HOW SWEET IS THAT!!!! LIKE ARE YOU JOKING

I remember him saying something like "Hopefully, this will make up for your dislike of the unsatisfying drink," except, you know, in that magnificent French accent of his. I *loved* the way this guy spoke, you don't even know.

We thanked him over and over and chatted a bit longer. He told me exactly where he worked and said that I should go there if we were back in Epcot during our trip. I was like,*If* we were back in Epcot? We'll probably never leave!

He also said that he was going back to France at the end of the month and that he didn't want to, and as soon as he could come back to Disney, he was going to. I find that really common with the World Showcase CMs I meet. They are all from these magnificent cities around the world and yet they all wanna be in Disney. Now what does that tell you?

At one point he asked me what the time was and I looked down at my phone to see that it had been OVER THREE HOURS since our ADR at Le Chefs! LOL.

That's what happens when you eat good French food, sing and twirl around, meet gorgeous French men, and drink delicious French champagne. It was an Epcot time slip, and it couldn't have been more wonderful!

Up next: Will we finally leave France?

Ah- France. It seems like a wonderful place to spend hours and hours.

Do we get to find out where your Frenchman works later on in the TR?

OH LORD... this is why I need to spend more time in the World Showcase. Not because I feel as if I have not explored it enough... that is no longer my reason.

OKAY, I'm so with you on the whole Eric and Aladdin are awesome but OH HELLO EUGENE. (Eric is still in my heart though... always. He and Eugene can have a tie for first and Aladdin can hang out awkwardly in second.) And I agree that they need more Aladdin EVERYTHING at Disney. It's crazy! Like bring on the Aladdin/Tangled/carbon copies of Toy Story Mania. I'm ready.

I feel like going to Disney makes people not even realize what they are doing. Like, I'm the same way, I'll just start doing a random dance (which, in all honesty, look something like this: ) and singing and waving my hands around, and it's just OKAY. If I was doing that in like... Target, or something, people would stop and stare. Life isn't fair. Disney is perfect.

I love the pictures with the flowers in them! They're so colorful and bright!

GAHH I love Aladdin. I love Flynn Rider. I love Prince Eric. And I love Prince Naveen too. THEY ARE ALL PERFECT HUMAN BEINGS. They deserve their own attractions. Like... maybe the Disney Princes need a little section of the park devoted just to them.

OMG MELT MY HEART Prince Phillip once told me that to find my prince, I should make sure I keep singing! Perhaps you should follow his advice, too

OH MY GOD WHY IS HE PERFECT!?!?! Omg Lia. SO CUTE. That's like one of the best Disney stories I've ever heard. Ahhhh French Boys That is so sweet. An attractive boy + the french accent + the Disney hospitality = heaven. I loved reading about it!

Okay, now being the only male here willing to comment after a post like this ..... now I know why my wife always insists on making at least one ADR in France! It's okay...next time I will just leave her with you two in France while I go to Morocco. What time is the next belly dancer set to perform?

I never spend much time in the Morocco pavilion either. I’m not sure why though. I mean, it is just so beautiful. Your pictures do a lovely job to capture that!

Like, omg. That French CM is amazing. I love how he brought over champagne for you guys because you didn’t like your drink (sorry to hear that). Like, how amazing IS THAT?! That is why the World Showcase CMs are da bomb. I just love them. Too much. They're hot, they’re nice, they work at Disney. Right there my friend is the perfect man.

As much as I do love them, the slushies can get a bit cloying after awhile. That's pretty awesome that the French CM brought you guys over some champagne! That definitely sounds like a fantastic bit of Disney magical wonderfulness!

Oh trust me, it is!

Hmm... I don't think so. I think it would be better to keep his identity a secret.

Yes, you definitely do! In 2008, I spent more time at WS than any other place (in fact, I only went to the MK once that whole trip, on the first day!). It was during Food & Wine, so that's the main reason, although the gorgeous men may have had something to do with it too. Anyway, my point is even with all the time I've spent it still was not enough!

Oh man, I do wish they would add another ride that was like Toy Story Mania. I mean, it's been 4 years and it's still the most popular attraction, it would really alleviate some of the traffic over there if they had another one. I know that wouldn't be original, but TSM is so amazing that I don't think anyone would care!

hahaha "Life isn't fair. Disney is perfect." I need to get that tattooed on my body.

Thank you! I've always had a thing for photographing Disney flowers, they're just so stunning! You know that phrase "You need to take the time to stop and smell the roses"? At Disney... I literally do. LOL.

Ahhh I love them too. I've only seen Princess & the Frog once, I really need to watch it again. But it makes me cry. It's just so sweet. And Prince Naveen I really need to meet him next time I'm at the park!

I think I will follow that advice, Thank you!

YESSSSS I know. It was quite overwhelming. I was like, is this really happening right now?! Can you really be that sweet?

haha, that's a good note! Ladies, send your husbands to Morocco to watch the belly dancer while you hang with the hot French guys! Really I think this can only do a marriage good.

Thank you! Yeah, I'd like to spend more time there. Maybe make an ADR or something. Perhaps next trip we'll get caught in a Moroccan time slip and we can stay there for almost 4 hours.

I know! It was so perfect! I was just kind of in awe of the whole situation to be honest with you!

Agreed! I'm glad people love them so much though, cause if I didn't hear so much about them I never would have ordered one, and had I not done that, I wouldn't have gotten free champagne from the gorgeous Frenchman! See... everything works out in Disney!

Ah, French boys. That is seriously so adorable that he brought you guys champagne!

I learned that lesson about alcoholic drinks in slushie machines with a particularly strong margarita at La Cantina de San Angel. I couldn't finish it! I'm glad you were able to at least finish your drink though.

It seems this TR is just an endless supply of funny encounters with apparently "good-looking" CMs. But your luck seemed to turn around for this one. So sweet of the dude to get you guys some "less unsatisfying" drink, but seriously how did he even get it if the guys job is just him wondering around? I feel by adding in the part you were wondering what the heck his job is and not telling us job when he told you is a bit unfair. UNFAIR! lol jk

Anyways... the Morocco pavilion looks absolutely gorgeous from this POV. Like most people, I do sort of skim over that pavilion, it just doesn't have a TON to offer, but it looks absolutely beautiful otherwise. to Aladdin lamps and I totally agree about Aladdin not having a HUGE amount of notoriety in the parks, it was a fairly successful film, why not give him a better ride besides the Dumbo knock-off? Oh and yeah, I gotta give you major props for just bursting out singing in public, I sort of whisper when I do that for fear of ridicule. Those are the times, I wish social cues were a bit more... lenient (; haha

catching up on the report now..
When I saw that tree in Orlando Airport I got so excited. For some reason I wasn't expecting Christmas decorations at the airport

Yay you've a trip mascot as well. I want Hula Timon btw but I always bring my bear Angel with me.

I loled at you commenting on POP being wall to wall people. Total spoiler for the end of my trip report but we staying on international drive for the first 12 days so it was quiet enough in our hotel then we moved to POP and one of Momma's complaints was it was to busy!

OMG Timon got lost I would actually cry if I lost Angel and I'm 27 I refuse to grow up as well! Growing up is boring!

I love the way the say good morning Princess to you around the parks. My best one was meeting Cinderella last year and she asked where I was from and when I said Ireland she was like oooh are you a princess there me nope and she was like you should be. INSTANT FAVOURITE PRINCESS

I have never seen that Dinosaur at HS

I also never noticed the beware of buffalo stone in AK

I totally agree on Osbourne lights being amazing. When we were there I literally shouted IT'S SNOWING MOMMA when the snow started. Amazing!!

Yeah, I don't think I'm down for strong drinks at Disney. It's just weird. Though the margarita I had at the quick service La Cantina wasn't strong at all. It was huge though!

Sorry! His identity will remain secret.

Aladdin was a lot more than fairly successful though. It made half a billion dollars at the box office and that doesn't even include the astronomical home video and merchandise sales. That is why I just don't get why there aren't more Aladdin stuff in the parks. All the other popular early 90's Disney movies are better represented. Sigh.

haha the thing with me is I just don't care what people say or think so I do anything and I'm sure I freak people out. Oh well.

Amazing!!
So did I! It was a beautiful tree and a nice preview of what was to come with the Disney decorations!

Pop did get a bit more crowded toward the end of the trip. We left on the 14th, and apparently that's right around when the crowds start to pick up. The rest of the time though, the crowds were so low everywhere! It was awesome.

Don't worry... I got a new Hula Timon! He will be hula dancing with us in the next TR, don't you worry. I agree... growing up is boring!

It's cool my TR has some stuff you haven't noticed before. Now you'll notice it next time!

hahaha aww that's so cute! It's seriously one of the most beautiful things in Disney!

Thanks for reading everyone!

I love all the Morocco photos! It's such a pretty pavilion. And I feel ya about the Aladdin ride. Though the Magic Carpets are pretty awesome when it's late, you're delirious, and you loudly sing "A Whole New World" as you fly around. Fun times were had by all.

Sometimes I forget that people I just meet are not used to my blunt way of speaking.
Story of my life.

Are Jello Shots a purely American thing? A la Red Solo Cups at parties? I never knew that. Your trip report is both entertaining AND informative.

What a sweet CM! Calls you princess, tells you that you have a beautiful voice, brings you champagne...When's the wedding?
