Question Is Beauvais just too far ?? First timer to DLP needs urgent help!

I am kinda new to the site and I have never been to DLP so I am super excited about taking my two children there.

However, before I can book up I am debating about hotels and what airport to fly into. There is CDG from Glasgow which is yes the most convenient but more expensive. I think it works out about £500 of a difference. While thats not life changing its more money that I could be spending on other things ie another night in the hotel and some Disney goodies.

So my choices are fly into CDG and get the pre arranged transfer (as I really couldnt be bothered changing trains etc with two children and two suitcases) or do I fly from prestwick to beauvais and then get a private transfer. I looked into it and its going to cost me about £150. However, the transfer from CDG wont be free. Its also about the time. Does anyone know how long it takes from both airports?

On to hotels and I am sorry about the length of this. I was looking at the Tulip Inn Marne because it looked good and it got good reviews. It was also about £600 for a week for the three of us which seems like a good deal. The Kyriad looked like a good hotel too. So I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I dont drive so it needs to be near trains etc.

Thanks for reading this and a big for any help that you can give me.

I'm not 100% sure of the time the VEA bus takes but I think it's probably about an hour(+) as a private shuttle from CDG takes about 40 minutes.

I think a private shuttle from Beauvais takes about an hour and a half.

Although my first reaction would be to take the Beauvais flight and a private shuttle (although longer journey it will be nicer than VEA bus) and have the extra ££ for spends what are the flight times? Will one route give you more time overall than the other?

If I'm thinking of the right hotel I believe the Tulip is just across the road from the train station so very easy to get to DLP, just two stops on the train. Which Kyriad are you thinking of? Is it the Kyriad at DLP, this one here?

Just thought I'd mention, a week is a long trip at DLP. Most first-timers go for 3 or 4 nights, and in that time, even with small children, you can do loads and your favourites over again, at DLP (its a compact resort, no travelling involved once you arrive).

hello! we have done prestwick to beauvais quite a few times. we hire a car though once there as its about the same price as the transfers you are quoting but we stayed at davy crocketts a few times so it gave us that as an accommodation option and also we could go to val d'europe for supplies at the Auchan

it is about 1hour30 from airport, easy route.

just seen you dont drive so ignore the above! i should not skim read!!

when are you planning going? i would still say go beauvais - definitely worth saving the cash for extra goodies. there is definitely a bus that leaves beauvais - have a look at the airport website too...

we have also stayed at the Cheyanne at disney which is great
have stayed at a kyriad in Torcy (2 stops on train to disney) and also in val d'europe.

We flew into Beauvais last year and are again this year ! The flight prices and times were way to much to look past.

Last year we had prestige transfer 250 euro return and it was a dream - this time we have booked rs transport for 180return ( hope they are as good)!

Transfer time was 1hr 30mins but to be fair - the guy was standing outside the arrivals gate - took our bags - crossed the road and we were on our way ! so no hanging about ! WAs a dream and I couldn't fault it ! Would like to go to CDG but from what I hear getting throught the airport to the TGV can take some time so its nearly just as much !

We are staying in Hotel d'elysse in val d'europe and got a great priceo n travel republic !

We saved hundreds booking our trip this way and getting annual passes on multi vantages - so will go again in the year and prob fly to beauvais again as we are in N Ireland and are limited to choice !

Up to you ? but we had 2 toddlers in tow also !

For a week I'd rather be at the Tulip Inn than at the Kyriad if that's your 2 choices.

The rooms are nicer and bigger for a start.

You also have the newly renovated Campanile at Bussy St Georges that you could look at. Good rates and excellent reviews

Beauvais is fine if you're getting a good price on the flight. We flew to and from there on our first trip to DLP and I don't remember the transfer time being too bad. I would happily use again if times and prices worked out better than flying into CDG, which I hate anyway!

Thank you everyone. I dont have toddlers infact just the opposite. They are 15 and 11 however, I wouldnt want to be dealing with trains etc. I just want to get there and get back. I like the easy life. I am going to look at the hotel recommendations as I want something fabulous. We are going to do Paris as well as DLP so as to break it up a bit and introduce the children to Paris.

do you have a link to the rs transport page? How many people is in your party that transfer is only 180 return. Cheapest I can find is 260. I booked Beauvais as well because of cheap flights but didn't realise VEA doesn't go regularly from it. :/

Link to page here. I expect that price is for a shared shuttle - although many people find that they don't end up having to share so get a very good deal.

We have travelled BVA to DLP with RS twice and found them great. In ten trips we only shared the shuttle once so IMO no point booking a private shuttle. Explorera had great room only rates on hotels4u.
