I'll do this part later.. It's midnight!

Our Pooh FP time had come up now, so we were off to our favorite next.

Hooray!

I couldn’t resist the “Hooray” pic this time, but I’ve mostly stopped taking it. We all still shout along with the story anyway!

Not certain what we’d do, we soon found ourselves on the way to Tomorrowland. The boys always want to drive their race cars, but the wait is usually too ridiculous for us. This evening, it was at twenty minutes. That was good enough, so we jumped in the line.

The wait here was the same as always, with lots of guests “joining their party” to make things fun. It’s become a joke to us. The speedway at night must be exciting. As before, I never did see any of that partying actually going on in the line. I guess it makes that twenty minutes go a little faster anyway. This one has one of the dullest waits in Disney!

More routine followed with a somewhat quick run through standby to battle Zurg. Being the first day of a new year, none of us were terribly bothered by waiting in a line. That Pooh FP would be the only one we collected all evening. There was no way we could go back to WDW without trying to get that perfect score here!

Sadly, I came up short. My score was really quite bad, but this was just the beginning. I had plenty of time to work on it and try again.

Blake had fun!

We moved on to the Peoplemover, where I started to see our evening coming to an end. Little Blakers had sleepy eyes and Andrew was just worn out. His day had started early. I guessed a peaceful ride on this one just might end with a snoring child..

My guess was wrong. Very wrong! Instead, we had one of our more exciting Peoplemover experiences. The light were on when we entered Space Mountain! I pulled out my camera again, catching pictures but not having a clue what it was..

How nifty was that? By the end of it, Andrew vowed to never, ever, ever ride Space Mountain! If you were looking for this to be that big day, I’m sorry to let you down. We have yet to face this big kid ride!

The Peoplemover did create just enough excitement to stick around a teeny bit longer. We couldn’t leave Tomorrowland without the Carousel of Progress! The boys were thrilled and sang along, as usual. Blakers attracted the attention of a man in the row in front of us. Thank goodness he found it entertaining! He was amazed that Blaker knew the entire song and encouraged him every time the scene changed!

After our fun show, we walked outside to Wishes! Everyone from the show gathered at the exit to watch the sky. It was our perfect first day ending!

But it isn't the end.. and here comes the scary part!

NOOO!!! Not a cliffhanger!!

It's so magical to walk out of a ride right into the middle of wishes!! It happened to us on our first night this last trip after riding PPF and let me tell you, watching wishes from right outside PPF is super magical cause the fireworks are all around you! It was amazing and just what we needed to get that magical feeling started for our trip.

Bah!! Hope you update again soon!! I wanna know how it gets scary! I hope it doesn't involve a lost kid! Cause my new mommy heart can't handle stories like that anymore!

Totally understand. I have a hard time justifying spending so much more for other places when Pop is great and so cheap! I didn't realize AoA was so much!

Nice evening at MK. Those lights-on photos of Space Mountain are so cool! It looks so different than I would imagine it. Uh oh, something scary's coming?!

A scary part? Space Mountain with the lights on wasn't scary enough?
Although, leaving with a cliff hanger is quite cute!

I think we've seen Wishes from FL more than any other place! I love it back there, too! Our view from just here wasn't the best, but it was still magical to watch them.

No lost kids this year. Promise! Well.. There is that one time that Blake kept walking when the rest of us stopped. But we caught up to him in seconds. I'm in no hurry to give up the stroller.

Hoping to update soon!

Seeing Space Mountain like this is just confusing to me. What exactly happens on this ride?? I have no idea what it's supposed to be like! Andrew was pretty set against it at the end of the last AP year, so I didn't think it would happen this night anyway.

The summer we've been having isn't helping my desire to spend extra at Disney either! It's really been one problem after another! (Hospital bills, AC problems, fridge dying, etc..) I need a Disney Day just to escape the stress right now!
Thankfully, this will be the only bad thing to happen this year! (Well, so far. I hope we have a fun rest of the year.)

Oh, this rates as about the scariest thing yet! (Not counting the time we "lost" Andrew anyway!) "Quite cute" made me laugh anyway. I just didn't want to think about it again! I'm still in no rush to write about it.

Thumbs down

As we walked towards Main Street, it was obvious that everyone in the park had decided to leave at the same time. No big deal. That’s kinda how things work after Wishes, right? We joined the herd and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent CM crowd control. Everyone moved slowly, but things were progressing. We opted to take the ferry across and moved into another big crowd on the side for strollers. The monorail line was terrifying!

The mess here was nothing out of the ordinary. People were loud. Kids were crying. Occasionally, a stroller would rush up on the “non-stroller” side and into someone who tried to block them. We just enjoyed the chaos and followed the family in front of us. Andrew and I made bets over how many boats it would take to get back to the TTC. He was sleepy, but doing great. Blakers wasn’t so strong and fell fast asleep in no time. Yes, we are stroller people for a while longer!

When we finally neared the turnstiles, it happened. The cute family that had formerly been behind us fell to a group of pushy people that seemed intent on making us their next victims. I stepped to the side to allow John to push the stroller ahead of me at the gate, and one of them made her move. She stepped ahead, and onto the back left wheel of our City Mini. (If you’ve seen one of these, you know just how talented she must’ve been. The wheels don’t exactly stick out!) She stepped back and we all kept walking. For as many nasty stroller pushers, there are just as many crazies that try to walk on top of them. It really wasn’t a big deal though. She seemed embarrassed and my stroller still worked. We survived the one hour ferry wait without major incident. Hooray! Some of those people made me nervous!

But that wasn’t all..

It never is, huh?

As I followed my husband along the left side benches, odd sounds seemed to be following close behind me. Someone was mooing like a cow, while another began a round of snorting noises. Geesh. Have I gotten that fat? I tried to ignore it. I had no idea what it was directed at anyway and didn’t care to find out. Unfortunately, when we made it to the gate to wait for the ferry, I saw that same group. It had all been directed at me all along!

The male leader of this mess began yelling at us. He said we’d run over his mother with the stroller. That wasn't what had happened at all, but "Mom" must’ve been more embarrassed than I thought. John and I looked at each other, silently in agreement that this man was insane. He proved us right by continuing, but we continued to ignore him. He had that “overtired child” look about him, and I knew he was just looking for a fight. He wasn’t going to get it from us. We didn't respond to any of this.

When the man turned to swearing, I asked the CM that was watching this for help. He attempted to settle the man, but didn’t get very far. Now I was getting very uncomfortable. He was throwing lots of awful words around and we were surrounded by kids. Mine included! My husband was called a very ugly name and the yelling turned to saying we should apologize to him. Again, we’d not done a darn thing to apologize for, but I was about to beg forgiveness for existing, if only to shut him up!

Then he called me.. "woman"

I've never been talked to like this in my life. Apparently, I don’t really care for it either! He seemed to have finally found a button and I opened my mouth. Lucky for me, that watching CM wasn’t going to let me get myself in trouble. He quickly interrupted and asked the man to calm down again. Nasty didn’t like that and, demanding that he not be told what to do, stepped towards the CM.

That was it. If you’ve ever wanted to be removed by a CM, this is how you do it.

“Let’s go,” the CM said to him, pulling open the gate.

Nasty male stepped forward, alone, when the CM pointed at the rest of his group.

“No, all of you.”

The rest of the group moved outside the gate, leaving their little boy sleeping in a stroller! How wild was that? The CM motioned for one to get the child.

Then they were gone.

I was shaking, and completely freaking out. John tried to calm me, but it was pointless. I now hated everything Disney and we were never coming back. Yes, I was possibly overreacting now, but the man had scared me. A lot. I surveyed the crowd, my anxiety going through the roof. That family stood off in the distance, several CMs now dealing with them. I watched the man’s arms flailing around, repeatedly motioning back towards us. He was out of control. I turned to my husband and closed my eyes.

In time, that same CM came back. He was concerned about us and wanted to be sure we were okay. He’d twice check on me in particular, telling me to forget about those people. By the time the ferry finally showed up, he’d made me feel a bit better, but the damage was done. It will be a very, very long time before anyone spots this family in the MK during or after Wishes!

Oh no! That WAS scary! Some people are just insane. He almost sounded drunk but as alcohol isn't served in MK I guess he was just a jerk! Some people really lose all common sense and verbal filters during late night exoduses I think. We've listened to many belligerent people while waiting for busses. Nothing like this though and never aimed at us. I'd be pretty shaken up too!

What did Andrew think of that all? Did he say anything afterward?

Definately not a great experience, but it sounds like you, your husband and the CM handled it well. Good thing it didn't happen to me, I have a tendency to not take someone talking to me like that very well.
Nothing but up from here though!!!

Some people are absolutely disgusting!! I am so sorry you had to experience that. I am so glad there was a good supportive CM to come to your defense!

I always tell my daughter (and some day it will sink in) that being tired or hungry is no excuse for bad behavior.

It was completely insane. I kept wishing the CM would do something, but I did know he really couldn't. The rest of this guy's group, five adults total and the little boy, didn't say a word the entire time. I have a feeling this is typical behavior for that one. He didn't seem drunk, just an awful kind of person.

When this guy started, John moved Andrew to the other side of the stroller. He didn't really see the man at all, but of course heard everything. He just said it was "horrible" and that the Disney man should've arrested him. He did worry we'd run into these people at the TTC, too.

I was actually sooo proud of John in this. I expected him to say something at any time during most of the yelling. Once the guy called me "woman", he did step over anyway. Things were about to go downhill for us, if not for the CM pulling this family out. I wish I could remember his name.. Scott maybe.. It's funny that I stared at that name tag several times, wishing he'd get these people out of there, but I have no idea what it said by the time we made it back to the room! I was going to leave a note about him. He was really great after it all anyway.

Rest of the time we've spent at the parks has been great!

Me too! There were a few CMs around, but this one was great. The fact that he kept checking in on us made me feel a lot better about it. I'm thankful that we weren't trapped in the middle of the crowd somewhere when he started this, too! I've never seen anyone behaving so poorly, and this was February! I can't imagine how bad it must be in the heat of summer sometimes.

I do wonder what happened to this family, too. I've never seen anyone pulled away like this! I spent the rest of the stay worrying that we might run into them again!

I'm sorry you had to deal with those awful people.

Thank you for posting the photographs inside Space Mountain! So interesting to see what goes on in there (not that I understand it any better from the photos, but it's pretty cool to get a sneaky peak behind the scenes!).

What a horrible experience! Some people just do not know how to behave. I feel sorry for the little boy if that was his Dad as he doesn't stand a chance, poor child.

Well done for not saying anything and arguing. I think that is definitely the best thing to do as getting into an argument would make you look bad too. Will have to remember that for myself......

Hope the next day was much better for you.

Hey, thanks. That man was a monster, but we made it out alive. I hope to never experience anything like again! I'm not kidding about not sticking around for Wishes, too! Those crowds make me nervous every time.

Exactly what I thought about Space Mountain! I have no idea what any of this is, but it looks nifty.

Loving your TR, btw! I haven't commented just yet since I'm not caught up, but first trips are my absolute favorites to read about.

Oh, I know! I feel awful for that man's family now, especially the boy and one of the women I made eye contact with for a moment. You could tell that this was just him, even though he did look exhausted from the park. It's really sad.

I was already worried that everyone watching thought we were the "bad" people in this. I wasn't about to add to it by arguing with him!

The next day is great, btw. We'll have the first of many big Blaker moments in this year. I'll get to it soon!

Oh my goodness, what a crazy jerk that guy was!

People truly lose their minds when they get into crowds. I work in a very high volume theater, and people completely forget how to behave. Last night I had to diffuse a fight over someone standing up and dancing and blocking a woman's view. It is a concert lady, stand up and dance! These women were literally ready to have a knock down, drag out fight over this! Ridiculous.

I'm so sorry that this idiot made you feel that way! I'm so proud of how you and John handled it, and I'm glad the CM was able to take charge of the situation!
