Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party Information

Just wanted to say we did this May 29th and it was fantastic. We arrived early for our 9pm reservation and were let in right away no waiting. Our table was perfectly located right on the rail. DH opted not to go but dd14 and dd12 LOVED it -- we would definitely do this again! dd12 is still talking about the mango shooters. After the show we hit the rides in tomorrowland (Wishes at 10pm and park closed at 11pm) and they were all walk ons. It was a great start to our vacation.

This will be our first time for the Dessert Party. I showed the girls the pictures at the beginning of this thread and they are very excited.

If at all possible, YES. I leave as much space between the end of the last meal and the start of the party as I would between a large lunch and a large dinner.

At CP, in particular, you may linger (and keep noshing from the buffet) to get time with all the characters. And there is always the danger of being seated a little late. With a 5 pm ADR your meal might last until 6:30. If the Dessert Party starts at 9 pm that's only a 2.5 hour gap between the 2.

Even more bonus points if you can schedule the Dessert Party on an evening EMH night. The sugar high from the desserts will carry you clear through a 2 am park close (ask me how I know this........ )

Thank you for the information. I was able to get a 3:45 dinner at CP instead. I may keep checking to see if we can get in closer to 3 and eat a snack around 10:30 or 11 instead of a full lunch. We plan to be at MK for rope drop and stay all day.

Anyone have any pictures to add to this thread? ....
any of the desserts, or perhaps pictures taken by the Photopass photographer? Or how about the parade from the dessert location. I have a few here, but i'm sure there must be more out there.

As far as reservation times, it's been reported that the earlier the reservation time, the better the seat. I'm not sure if this has ever been confirmed.

So just to be clear...My ressie is for 9:20 but we can actually get in line at 8:30? This is a relief if I'm understanding this correctly, I was worried the desserts would all be gone before my party even got seated! I was checking every day to see if I could get a "better time" but I guess I don't have to worry about that now. Even if we don't have a good table, we were planning on standing for Wishes anyway. Thanks for the pics, it puts it in a little perspective for me.

Disney will tell you that the Dessert Party will begin about 1 hour before the fireworks begin. When we were there, we expected to be let in around 9pm, and they allowed us in around 8:40. I've heard other reports of 8:30 sometimes. I'm guessing it all depends on when they have everything ready, and also perhaps how long the line may be. This is my own personal speculation.

Again, the time of your reservation makes no matter as to the time you can enter the party. Even though you have a 9:20 reservation, you could still be the first one in line and enter when they open the gateway to the party. I know this because that was the time of our reservation, and we were the first in line.

It's just my wife and i, and we were ready to relax, so we were actually there about 8pm or so. There was another couple there about 5 minutes later, and more came about 5 minutes after that. It's all in what you want to do.

We need this posted in caps in a sticky: IGNORE YOUR ADR TIME FOR THE DESSERT PARTY. The ADR system insists on treating this event like a restaurant, where you have to stagger the ADR times or the staff would die. It ought to be in the ADR system as a single timed event like HDDR or the Luau. There is only one Dessert Party per night and if you have an ADR for any time at all, you have an ADR for that night's Party. The Party is supposed to start 1 hour before Wishes although some nights people report being let in a little earlier. I would imagine it has to do with whether they are fully staffed and set up early.

Anyhow, if Wishes is at 10, the Party officially begins at 9 and could begin a little earlier. I would not recommend getting there before 8:30 just in case it doesn't start until 9; part of what you are paying for with the Party is the convenience of NOT losing the entire evening in the park standing around waiting for fireworks viewing.

Try searching over on the Disney Dining Review board for Dessert Party pictures; I know someone just added pictures in the last few days as part of their review. ETA: review by the little marla, title starts " I fell off the ice cream truck", page 7. And there are lots of others, too.

Just booked our Dessert party for September 19th at 8:20. Now when people are saying to arrive "45" minutes before are they talking about the reservation time or before the fireworks? Wishes is usually at 9 So isn't the time of my ressie for 45 minutes before?

You would want to arrive 45 minutes to an hr before the Fireworks begin...so if the fireworks begin at 9pm, you'll arrive at the dessert party about 8-8:15pm.

I disagree. If Wishes is at 9 the Dessert Party opens at 8 or maybe 5-10 minutes before that. If you wait until 8:15 you're simply giving everyone else first crack at the buffet tables. I would plan on arriving at about 7:45. No earlier than 7:30 but certainly no later than 8.

And, as has been said before, you can ignore the actual time of your ADR. This is a single hard-ticket event that opens for everyone at the same time no matter what the ADR system has assigned you.
