Pacific Coast Highway & Whale Watching
We will be driving the Pacific Coast Highway the end of July/first part of Aug. Will we be able to see any whales or is it the wrong time of year?

Humpbacks and Blue whales are common during the summer months. Dolphins are all year.
Theres whale watching boats out of Santa Barbara, Ventura, Oxnard, Avila, Big Sur and Monterrey that I'm aware of. Sometimes you can view whales from the highway but they're usually difficult to see and its pure luck!

Monterey Bay California is sort of a whale watching mecca. There are trips out of Santa Cruz and many more out of Monterey.
