So I wanted to ask opinions here. I've seen the party many times and have always decided in my head the viewing there would be terrible. Wishes is one thing I pretty much live for, so having a perfect view (been at the exact same place for as long as I can remember) is a must! If the view was not blocked at all, by the overhang or whatever, then I'd sign up in a heartbeat.
But it sounds like there are issues with crowding and standing in the party the same as there is for everyone else...am I missing something? Can you have a completely unobstructed view from the party regardless of where you sit? That to me is most important..the desserts would be only a distraction

When we did the party in 2010, we were a few rows back and had trouble seeing with the overhang. We stood at the rail, but had plenty of room and never experienced any crowding or shoving. There was a lot of people at the rail, and enjoyed the view.

From what I am getting - it seems that when the party first began it was kind of advertised as you sit, eat desserts and watch the fireworks. As time went on the official WDW pages now state that it is standing room. In other words they must have gotten some pushback since in reality it is impossible to have everyone sit and see. People have to get up to the railing.

Yes! Those were some the best PP pics we had gotten, because it was raining the night we did the Dessert Party, and most PP CMs weren't taking pictures. They don't take pictures during Wishes though, which is why I recommended to scope out the railing by the PP person, because nobody is allowed along the railing in that particular area pre-Wishes, because they are taking pictures.
To answer the PP, yes, there are areas you will not be able to see Wishes if you're stay seated at your table. We were at one of the front tables, but still had to stand at railing because people lined up in front of us. It's always kind of tough for my youngest, who's 6'3", because he always seems to get separated from the family at events, because he doesn't want to block shorter people's views. I know I wouldn't be able to see anything if I were behind him!! I really liked the Dessert Party, especially, as mentioned, it was raining, and it gave us a nice dry place to watch the fireworks. My DH, on the other hand, LOVED it. We always ask each other after our trips, what our favorite part was, and this is what ranked on the top for him on our last trip....but he has a huge sweet-tooth, and loved the desserts! |

Just wanted to add to what I wrote previously. I think the vast majority of people really think they sit and watch. That is what prompts a little bit of "getting your spot" issue that may not be obvious on this particular thread but have popped up elsewhere.

Anyone know if a party of 2 gets their own table or do they have to share with others?

That is why I started this thread actually, and posted the pictures to show that you can't view the fireworks by sitting down. It's still a nice break from being in the crowds, and having dessert.

Sounds like the desserts are a big draw, and they do look delicious..much better than the CS desserts I don't like much. The only reason I would this for my family would be strictly for the best view of Wishes which sounds to me like it's hit or miss. And having to be there 45-60 minutes early I think I'll just keep my spot. It's perfect, we can sit, no one can crowd us and I wait 45 minutes anyway for free. Add a mickey ice cream bar and I'm set

I have a very odd question about the dessert party. This will be our first time trying it in july. My boyfriend booked it without me knowing. I have looked at the wonderful pictures, but I see that everything is covered in chocolate. I hate chocolate
. Do they have a lot to offer for people who do not eat chocolate? I bet you never heard that one before!
