Passports, passports, we still need passports.
We had pictures taken at CVS the night before but couldn't get them printed. I expected to pick them up on my way to get the kids from school. About 10:00am I received a call from my Mother (Gram) that CVS had called and I needed to call them right away. Bad news. They could only print DH's picture. Major bummer! But, one was better than none. I really wanted them there as they are half the price than what it would cost at the post office and I had coupons. I left work at 1:30pm, stopped by CVS for DH's picture, stopped at the quick stop for drinks and snacks and then on to DS' school. I was 5 minutes early. I normally late and rushing. I had sent a note with him to give the office and when I walked in they had his schedule pulled and called for him right away. He came and we were off to DD's school. We actually had time to wait there and were able to chat with friends for a few minutes. The office must have heard that a newly famous parent was there to pick up their child because they actually let out a couple minutes early. While we were waiting for DD's class, a couple boys walked by and we heard the staged whisper, "He's on the swim team. Cool!" DS had his swim team shirt on. He just grinned. DD's class came and we were off. Here is where I did something I usually preach againist. Traffic at DD's school is real bad in the afternoons and I really question the logic to moving cars out of the parking lot. Never quite makes sense. Some parents park at the back of the parking lot and then go out the entrance. 99% of the time I am very big on following rules. Today was the 1%. I went out the entrance. While getting a lecture from DS. But I was on a mission and 10 minutes to leave the proper way just wasn't going to work. Time was precious. Please don't flame. On the interstate, I had DS call DH to make sure he left his office on time. He actually left a few minutes early and I requested if he was ahead of us to get in line. The post office I chose was easy to get to and traffic was thankfully light. We arrived and DH was already there, but not in line. This post office had a seperate line for passports and no one was there. Finally a real nice lady came to help us. Glad she was nice because DH had filled out the kids applications and left a couple things off of DS'. Height and weight are important on these forms. I measured DS and he is now 5' 11". I didn't realize he was that tall! We were ask all of the questions about being criminals, nope we aren't and then we were allowed to the back room for pictures. Right before we went back, DH said "Look behind you". There were 10 people in line behind us. Oh my, that poor lady. We had pictures done without a hitch, forms all signed, birth certificates handed over and I'm $550 poorer. But in 3-4 weeks, we should have passports in hand and then WE CAN CRUISE!

We have cruised on the Magic 3 times...LOVE it! Be sure to check out the "secret sun deck"...Deck 7 all the way aft...nice when its a little too windy up on the pool deck.
Be sure to go to your cruise meet board and get to know some fellow cruisers! The Magic is small enough that you will encounter the same people OFTEN! You are going to have a BLAST! Congrats!

so great that the gift cards were just a surprise perk!!! We are headed to the post office for passports tomorrow for our August cruise. We had our pictures done at Costco for $5 a person! Glad that is all taken care of for you. I love reading your updates, and I'm so glad you are doing a PTR, and that you won!
So happy for you. Glad all the coupon sharing karma has come back to you.

Your excitement is contagious.
You really seem like the type of person that deserves this trip. Keep it up. You are helping me be okay with the fact that I can't sail again until 2015. I may speak for others also but I am living through you right now so enjoy it as much as you can so all of us can! But hey no pressure.

I am so happy for you but....so jealous LOL. We went on the Wonder last year (our first cruise) and I have to say I am hooked. A cruise vacation is so different from the parks in a completely relaxing way. I really hope you enjoy it and I am thrilled for you!!!! When we went on our cuise last year I was a nut on getting information-you might want to try getting the Passporter's Ninth Edition on the Cruiseline. It was invaluable and really built up the excitement!!!!
