I forgot to bring my charger, and my battery ran out today. There is nothing worse than being in Disney and not having a working camera!

Check out either guest services(Town Hall) in the Magic Kingdom or Better yet the Town Square Exposition Hall/PhotoPass center directly accross from town hall. They may be able to help you.

I read somewhere that if you ask at a hotel desk, they often have a box of assorted chargers that were left behind in rooms, etc. and they will let you use one. Maybe Shades has that too! It's worth a shot...

As far as I know we will be in standard rooms in July. What kind of refrigerators are in the rooms? Small mini fridges? Larger dorm type fridge with a small freezer? I'm hoping it's something to keep milk, cheese sticks, lunch meats, etc., as well as freeze our water bottles for each day we are there. Thanks!!

I want to say they were larger, but no freezer, but I could be mixing it up with somewhere else.

The refrigerators are mini dorm type - no way you can fit a large milk carton. You can fit a few water bottles and small snacks.

well crud. Thanks...guess we'll haul the big cooler to keep extra stuff chilled. Even a half gallon of milk would be plenty...my 8 year old only drinks milk & water.

I think we've been able to fit a tall quart in there, but also, we just buy the single serve milk "chugs" (16oz bottles? or whatever they are) and toss a bunch in. My son likes to have milk for breakfast and for lunch with a pbj if we're in the room and sometimes at bed ( I should get a cow)

Yes, it's more expensive, but it just is easier. And we can usually grab a few at the Express Cafe each morning or mid day when we return home.

Yes, she's at AK, usually on the path between Kilimanjaro Safari and Flights of Wonder. I haven't seen her any further over than that.

If you are talking about Shades, certainly! I tried typing all this in a few minutes ago and it disappeared. So if it posts twice, I am sorry.

We came home early one day to grab a quick nap and dinner before heading back to the parks in about an hour and a half. Well, DH went down for a nap while I went to grab dinner. After wandering the hotel for a little bit trying to decide where I wanted to get our food, I ended up at the take-out desk near the gallery and mangino's. I ordered the spaghetti dinner and was told it would take "about 15-20 minutes." I ordered, paid and wandered the hotel for about 15 minutes before coming back to the desk. As I approached, there was one man sitting on the wall and two more ordering burgers. The lady at the desk took their orders and headed back to the kitchen ... to get my dinner, I thought.

NOT!

She disappeared for what seemed like forever. I told the guy next to me that they must have had to go to Italy for my dinner. He looked at me with a resigned look on his face and said, "I am in serious trouble if they went to Italy for my club sandwich." And he said it so deadpan that I had to laugh. It had been about 30-35 minutes since I had ordered and he had been there as long as I had.

Finally sick of waiting, I headed in to the desk in the gallery and asked if they could check on the status of our dinners. All she said was that the kitchen was backed up. I explained that it had been nearly 45 minutes since I ordered and that I may not even have time to eat it now and that I should have been told it would be that long. All she said was: "She should have told you. Sorry."

REALLY?????????

Anyway, the food finally came out ... all at the same time. My dinner, the man's club sandwich ... and the two burgers! This better be the best spaghetti dinner ever.

NOT!!!!!!!!!

It tasted like cafeteria spaghetti and the breadstick was hard enough to break a tooth. When I banged it against my dish DH went into hysterics. He tried to take a bite and couldn't bite it! I then moved on to the ceasar salad. Can't possibly ruin a ceasar salad, you might think. And you would be WRONG! There was about 10 small pieces of lettuce and a handful of croutons. DH said maybe the breadstick was suppose to be the croutons ... funny man! Anyway, when I dipped a piece of lettuce into the dressing, it was absolutely horrible! It was even so bad that, when DH tried it, he had to go into the bathroom and rinse his mouth out. And this is a man who eats danuguon (pork cooked in pork blood) and balut (a pickled baby chick still in the shell).

Anyway, this is my one and only attempt at Shades food this trip ... possibly forever. I think I would rather go hungry.

Now the food story is going to give me nightmares.

so, how many actual people were in the restaurant that the kitchen was so backed up?

Really, how hard could it be for them to run a decent restaurant or get decent food? I mean, I know we're paying dirt cheap for the rooms but come on.
