Yacht Club Review - The DIS Discussion Forums

Throughly enjoyed the YC review on this week's podcast. I'm looking forward to a review of the Beach Club so that the team can do a compare/contrast of the two experiences. Its a question that comes up often on the Resorts board and it seems that everybody has their preferred resort.

I agree - loved it!
So true what Pete said about first impressions being super important and setting the tone for the whole vacation.

I agree - love the hotel reviews! I know they are not cheap to do, but I think they really add value to the Podcast and help us trip planners figure out which hotels are worth the extra $$ and which may not bet. Great work!

Just listened to this review and really enjoyed it. I felt the same way as Pete when we stayed there - as soon as we walking in to our room we were saying 'wow!' Sorry to hear that the Captains Grille is still not any better. We are hoping to stay there next year and will have to be sure to eat elsewhere.

I wanted to add that because I have Beach Club as my DVC "home" resort, I stay there most often. On the past few trips, I've been personally greeted by the clipboard greeter. I thought that was a nice touch. They must get info linked via Magical Express, as well, because the first time they greeted me directly off that bus, it was a "wow" moment.

I have been using online check in since Disney started offering it, so I originally thought the greeting was linked to that. I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that they are greeting all their guests who didn't use that service, too.

I looked there. My computer hates me and won't play the video of the rooms and I don't see any still photos. I went to the top where it says 'photos' and there is no section for the Yacht Club. I refreshed my browser, cleared the cache (you just never know!) and looked again. I ended up on allearsnet. Much easier to find there.

Very strange. I just went back there to check and its all working fine.

Perhaps you need to be nicer to your computer?

It works ok sometimes. I'm still surprised that there is no photo gallery on the DIS for Yacht and Beach Clubs

But there is. There are photos and videos on the Yacht Club Page as well as photos in the "photos" tab (http://www.wdwinfo.com/pictures.htm). There is a page for Beach Club as well.

There are a few photos there, but none of inside the rooms. I looked here: http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/disney-.../index903.html and there isn't even an option for the Yacht/Beach Club. Maybe they'll post some from their recent stay (hint, hint!)
