It doesn't give you that happy loving welcoming feeling that the pervious one did. Not the Disney feeling we have all come to love but more like this is a company spiel with what they feel you need to know and that's it.

It's a computer voice right? One less voice actor means more bonus for Iger.

I think the computer generated voice makes the spiels more flexible. Believe it or not, there is more to worry about than money at the parks. It's definitely one of the largest concerns, but not the only one. |

It sure isn't the same, but when I listened to it I still thought for a second that I could smell that special, monorail "barnyard" smell!

I think the voice is fine. Not as monotone as some think. But, it kind of sounds like this voice that you first hear when getting to Disney.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGqWlWOs3UQ

It isn't a computer voice. It is ok, just not like the old voice. I just don't get the warm fuzzies with this voice.

Double yuck! I also don't think the monorails going near MK should have the silly movie decorations. Save that for by Epcot. The ones near MK and the MK resorts should be traditional.

I don't get the warm fuzzies either. The old voice had more personality -- it made the spiel feel more "personal" and friendly. I can't figure out why they'd go away from a friendly voice in favor of something kinda void of emotion. Not Disney's usual M.O.!

We're at the contemporary this week (blt) and it took me several monorail rides before I even remembered to listen for the change. It seems fine to me.
And they kept all the monorail history on the epcot loop.

And one more thing that occurred to me. A friend of mine in college worked part time at Disney in mk merchandise. He told me his manager was the person who did the voice for the monorail. That was back in 1995. Maybe that person doesn't work for Disney anymore? I'd bet this new voice is a cm that had to audition and was chosen as the new voice of the monorail, likely not paid any extra for the voice work unless they are an hourly employee.

? Sure, people notice when an entire ride or restaurant is "renovated" but the little things like narration on the Monorail and TTA are what make a Disney vacation magical IMO.Maybe it's silly but hearing different narrations destroy a little part of my childhood. I remember the old narrations fondly and the new ones will take some getting used to .

All I can say is.... it's been almost 2 years since I was in WDW listening to ANY monorail speil and it will be at least another 2 years until I can even think about heading down again.
Right about now, I wouldn't mind if the spiel was voiced by Ozzy Ozboune I'd be so happy to be there!

How long had the previous voice been used? Is it possible they needed to change some things, but could no longer get the original voice person? As such, they would have needed to redo the whole thing.
