Hi, we're staying at the Poly in August. Are there any DSA's near the Hawaii building and by the pool area?

If you go back one page in this thread, a very kind person posted the Polynesian DSAs in detail - even some photgraphs, but all with descriptions.

Ok. I went back and read all the way back to page 99. There is no mention of the Hawaii building or if there is one by the pool. So, if someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If there's no mention on page 118, and nothing on the map linked on page one - I'd say there's no DSA.

There is a DSA by the quiet pool restroom area. That is fairly close to Hawaii. Additionally, the second floor stairway area of Samoa houses a covered smoking area with seating. This building is next to Hawaii.

There is also another covered area with seating at Figi (2nd floor), but this is a distance from Hawaii.

Another area, but not covered, seating included is on the walkway between Rarotonga and Niue.

Scattered around the grounds are DSAs with benches and ashcans. Some of these include, but are not limited to:
A location just outside the GCH doors as you walk toward Hawaii; and another out the front doors to the left
An area on the way to the bus stop located on the walkway in front of Tangaroa Terrace
A bench up the stairs from the volcano pool on the GCH side
An area on the walkway to TTC between Tokelau and Tahiti
Another at the end of the Tahiti building
Check the map as referenced in the previous post. You should be able to spot these locations that I have posted. I'm sure there are probably others--I'm not an expert on the DSA locations.

Thank you so much! I was having a hard time finding that information. Thanks again!

No problem--I should have noted that the DSA between Niue and Rarotonga is on the 2nd floor deck area.

You're welcome.

This one is close to the big pool. It's between the seating area outside of Capt. Cook's and the pool. Just "discovered" it in March!

I HOPE we never have to stay there again either. It was the only place available for our last minute spring break trip. Since I'm the only smoker in the family I couldn't put up much of an argument! I've just never been a huge fan of AK and/or AKL. Don't "flame" me; just not my style. I'm more "into" the Poly and BLT but "beggars can't be choosers"! I WAS at Disney World!

I am SO JEALOUS! I did NOT think I'd like BLT (tagged along with DD for that stay too! ) but I loved it! We had Bay Lake view, 10th floor, and the view was awesome. You didn't ask but here are the two DSA's at BLT:

At front door:

Located in what I call "the backyard" :

Enjoy your stay........

Pop Smoking areas

My son is at Pop right now and he says the smoking area is gone outside the main building. The benches are removed and big No Smoking sign. Also around the lake he thinks as he see no more benches or signs. Anyone know what smoking areas are gone and which ones remain?

I have always wanted to stay at AKL but my daughter smokes and I know there are only 2 smoking areas. So do you think this would be a bad idea ? What if we request to be near the smoking area ? Does anyone think that would work out ? Any advice on this would be great.
