Keeping cool in the summer

So what do you use to keep cool at the parks in the summer.

Last time we used Misty Mates and the big one worked well(but was a bit of a pain to carry) When the kids were little I also used to put a washcloth in the ice bucket full of ice overnight- it gets a little crunchy frozen. I put that in a ziploc and bring it along- it was a quick way to cool down a hot baby.

So what do you use? Any tips? Anything new since the Misty Mate?

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer (or a Lamenting Larry) but I've never been able to keep cool. You can only combat the effects of the heat by taking aggressive measures.

The misters are somewhat effective, but limited by the relative humidity and the availability of any breeze that might be blowing.

We've used pre-frozen gel packs to help keep that moist wash cloth cool in the zip lock bag.
We stay in the shade as much as possible.
We drink lots of water.
We spend time in the air conditioned stores and ride pre-shows (although reports from last year indicate WDW seems to have set a higher temp in those areas, perhaps to save $$$).
We wear light-colored clothing, either cotton or technical (wicking) material.
We wear two pair of socks (one sheer, one cotton) to reduce blisters, or use moleskin and/or friction lubricant on rub points.
We go early in the day, take a break from 11AM to 5PM and return to the parks in the (relatively) cooler evening hours (the pavement releases a lot of heat for the first few hours of darkness, but at least we don't have direct sunlight to deal with).

1) I bought the Cool-Neck-Wraps for golf in the Carolinas.
. . . they are sold under several brand names
. . . they are filled with plastic "beads"
. . . the beads absorb water
. . . as they evaporate, it has a cooling effect
. . . these are available at most Walmarts for about $2 a piece
2) They work great for WDW.
3) We
. . . get five of the collars
. . . soak in water
. . . you put them over major blood arteries
. . . put one each on neck, each wrist, each ankle
4) Feel cool all day long

NOTE: If they get warm, run them under a cool drinking fountain. Or,
get a glass of ice water from a QS and dunk them into the water.

When I saw the thread title, my first thought was, "You can't."

I get enough sleep, take my vitamins, carry water with me and take frequent sips, eat salads and spend as much time as possible in air conditioned stuff. I wear light, flowy clothes and those bras that advertise keeping you cool. I don't carry anything.

But I'm still hot.

If its 95 degrees and freakin humid as all get out, you're going to be hot.

I keep cool by drinking lots of water, going on water rides, sometimes going indoors and using the misty mate.

These sound great. I've got to try them on our next trip.

For water, get yourself the Brita water filter bottle. You can get a nice big cup of ice water at any quick service food station or anyplace that sells fountain sodas. You can pour it right into the Brita and have filtered (No horrible Florida water taste!) ice cold water all day long and not pay a single cent.

We brought bobbles this past trip and bought some insulated strap carriers on ebay that kept it cool even longer. Another thing to look into.
