Our first MNSSHP - questions
Our trip this year is October 14-20. Trying to decide which day to buy MNSSHP tickets. It will be our first Halloween trip. We know there will be tons of people no matter which night we pick. However, just curious if one might be better than another? Tickets are available Sunday (14th) Tuesday (16th) and Thursday (18th) nights. Which would you choose?
Thanks. |

We are going to be at WDW the week after you. We have picked Tues night for the party we are going to attend. I would go with the Tues or Thurs for when you are going to be there--whichever fits your schedule better.

I would also go with either Tuesday or Thursday; historically crowds are lower on weeknights (because local folks have to go to work the next day and are less likely to attend those parties). You're early enough in the month that it should be pretty manageable whichever day you choose.
It's up to you to decide how much your willing to gamble on ticket availability, but my family normally waits until the day before or so to get tickets. That way we have a pretty good idea what the weather will be like. If it's rainy or recently rained, the Headless Horseman doesn't ride before the parade. The other special event activities will still run (at least I think so), but it's not fun to be running around the park in the rain.

All night rain is unlikely, but possible. If you're certain it wouldn't bug you...even if shows get cancelled, then don't give it another thought. If rain would bum you out, give it some thought. Have fun! |

Wouldn't the same logic apply to Sunday nights?

We're planning on Tues the 16th just so we have Thurs 18th as a backup in case of rain.

I'd go Sunday over the other two days. As mentioned, this is a weeknight as well. Early in the trip while you're still fresh is a positive.

Many OOT guests arrive on Sunday and kick their trip off with a bang

Party nights haven't "officially" been announced yet, but if you look at the park hours, any night that MK closes at 7pm is most likely a Party night.

the 16th is a great choice. tues/thurs are generally less crowded.. just as an FYI.. once you purchase your tickets they are for that night and even if it rains heavy the party will still be on. only if there is some dangerous weather condition will you be able to get tickets for another night and then it will be based on availability. It poured for about 2 hours last year when i was at the party but thankfully it stopped and we had a great time other than the headless horseman not riding due to wet pavement.
