Caribbean Humidity

Hey guys,

I am from California and am going on the Fantasy on the Eastern Caribbean cruise june 2, 2012. I was wondering how humid it is there compared to the West Coast. Anyone have any input? I was just hoping to know what to expect.

Thanks!

We are on the same cruise! We have never been to the Caribbean in June, but in July it can get pretty humid. At least there is always a breeze! This will be our first ever cruise however, can't wait.

We are on the same cruise as well!!!
We are from SC so we have that southern humidity here.....I expect it to be equal or greater but with a much better view!
Are either of you on the meet thread? See you on the ship!

We cruised to the Bahamas on the Dream at the beginning of April, and the humidity was crazy! It wasn't uncomfortable because the temps were in the 70's (heat index in the 80's), but my hair was so incredibly frizzy. I don't use any frizz control products at home (Virginia), but that is already on my must pack list for our 7 night Eastern next spring. We also had a hard time getting our swimsuits to dry hanging on the clothesline in the shower, and I'm guessing it's b/c there is just so much humidity. So I can assure you that it will be very, very humid in the Caribbean in June.

Since you're from California, I'll add this little piece of info... I had to go to Palm Springs, CA for a conference in July a few years ago (I guess my company got a discount for it being in the off season ) It was so dry there the skin on my hands started peeling off. I'll take 100% humidity over dry heat any day

That's good!

The Caribbean is as humid as Florida and Hawaii. great for the skin, but not so much for naturally curly hair. frizz alert!

It's all a matter of what you're used to. This desert rat doesn't handle humidity well at all.

I live in Hot -lanta and the humidity is 10x or more worse in the Carribean.
The shower steam is a great example!!! or a sauna~ my hair goes instantly straight.. my daughters goes crazy curly right away! pony tails are my best friend!!!

we are on the Fantasy the week before you.

It is so funny to hear you say that. We visited AZ at the end of May a couple of years ago and I thought I was going to bake. I could barely inhale it was so hot standing in a parking lot. I felt like I was in an oven.

I do enjoy the few days we get in FL with no humidity but they are usually coupled with breezes and cooler weather! I guess it is all in what we get acclimated to.

We much prefer dry heat to humidity also. Lake Havasu in July is awesome, LOL. I'll take 110 in the desert over 90 with humidity anyday.

That said, almost all my visits to Texas to see relatives have been during the summer and we spent 10 days in WDW in August 2010. I'm hoping that the Fantasy in late June/Early July won't be any worse than that
