Is it true the dividers between balconies don't open on Magic/Wonder?

We've only sailed with a porthole on the classic ships so I'm not familiar with the balconies. IIRC, we can't ask our stateroom host/hostess to open the divider between the balconies correct? My parents just added on with us for Alaska and got the cabin next door. I pretty sure this won't be an option for us. Just need to confirm for my mom.

Thanks!

IIRC, the do not. They are much more permanent looking than the ones on the Dream/Fantasy. We did have connecting balconies on the Fantasy and had the balcony opened, it was AWESOME. We won't be able to that next summer when we sail the Magic. Though we did rarely use it, we used the connecting door MUCH more.....

Correct, they do not open. There are some cabins withan interior connecting door, though.

Just an FYI.....they USED to open......but for the last several years, maybe as long as 6-7 years, most of them have been welded shut.

And another note, if you are on the Dream or Fantasy and plan to open the connecting doors, bring along a bungee cord or something to hold the door open. The breeze blows between the open divider doors something fierce sometimes, and then the door keeps slamming shut.

I honestly don't remember them ever opening--I was on the MV of the Magic. However, they certainly to not now.

If you have a connecting stateroom, will you have connecting verandahs?

On the Fantasy, they locked into place open, so no issues with them moving once open. Don't know if this is the same for the Dream.....

Just got off the Dream yesterday and we had them open the door between our balconies. It was great! No banging with ours either.
It was a connecting room though we rarely used the connecting door; sailed with friends & their kids. One of our best cruises ever.

We've done the pirate party enough times so this time we had dinner at Palo then watched the fireworks from our balcony. Perfect end to a perfect night.
(Not related to balcony dividers at all but it was all just so much fun and I know you all here would understand.)

Magic and Wonder, NO. There are no connecting balconies.

Fantasy and Dream--connecting verandah rooms = connecting balcony

I'm pretty sure almost all the verandahs can be connected on the Dream. We had 3 cabins, 2 connecting, then skip one, then the third. Our stateroom host told us that if the 3rd cabin had been adjoining we could have opened all 3 balconies together.

I also was on the MV of the Magic and stayed several times in Verandah cabins and never remember them being able to open.

You can ask your stateroom attendand for door stops and they will bring them for your interior connecting doors.
