Question Off Kilter - viewing area

I want to be sure to catch an Off Kilter show on our next trip - is there seating area by the stage where they perform? Is the seating area sheltered from the sun?

1- Yes.

2- Not all of it.
There are some "patio umbrellas" mixed into the seating, and some of the seats
can be in the shade at some times of day.

You can see some of the seating in this YouTube that I found.

(Go about 45 seconds in.)

Really looking forward to seeing this show as well but does anyone else besides me wonder why a celtic bagpipe band is in the Canada Pavillion? Wouldn't the UK Pavillion make more sense

They aren't (specifically) a "Celtic bagpipe band."

They do Canadian music as well. Excellent Bare Naked Ladies medley. Plus an awesome Summer of 69 from Bryan Adams. Also BTO. It's not just all bagpipes.

And the Canadian province Nova Scotia is new Scotland. Kilts are Scottish.

I actually don't really care. Quality entertainment is quite fine with me.

Off-Kilter is a Celtic rock band. Canada is a hotbed of Celtic rock. As much Celtic rock comes from Canada as does from the UK (if not more)

If you like Celtic rock and/or Off-Kilter check out http://www.amazon.com/Folk-Hell-Fier...3746245&sr=8-1. It's a collection of various contemporary Celtic rock bands from the UK. There's also a great Canadian rock band called "Hadrians Wall" from Canada I saw perform at a Scottish festival at Stone Mountain.

As to the seating, get there EARLY if you don't like sitting in the sun. Off-Kilter is popular!

Beware. The seats that are not shaded get HOT. We're talking surface of the sun hot!

THE REAL STORY:
. . . the members are Cast Members
. . . the leader (Jamie Holton) played pipes
. . . he worked for Disney and played in a pipes trio
. . . then, he went to WDW management with a suggestion
. . . why not have a "Celtic" band?
. . . they receruited musicians in 1997
. . . the band was started
. . . they put the location next to Canada, due to open space
. . . they still play at WDW
. . . but, also play off-site and recored CD's

Thanks and for the others who replied about Canada having alot of celtic bands, I had no idea so I guess you learn something new everyday. I have never seen them so I also didn't know they played other music as well. Sorry to hijack the original posters question.

Jamie's not always there though. For some reason I've missed him my last two trips (twice during my Nov 26th-Dec 4th trip and then once during my Feb 4th-11th trip). I know each member has certain days off, but it was just weird I missed him three times in two recent trips. They did not have a bagpipe player those days. They were still good, the sound was just different with another lead singer and no bagpipes.

We havent seen Jamie the last 4 times we have been there and it got us wondering if he has really cut back on his performances there. It really isnt the same without him and the bagpipes
