I’m debating online check-in as we have a building request and floor request, but want to get over to Epcot as quickly as possible….dinner and illuminations awaits!
I don't think anyone can predict a line at a particular day or time. Personally I like online check in. Even when using it we could modify our room if they have the availability. When we get there I let DH handle whatever luggage and the ME and then I make a beeline inside the GCH to get to online check-in. I do not wait for someone to escort me in - don't need it. There is no special place to check-in for your view, only if you are CL.

I know what you mean. I can book anywhere else on property, intending to stay there, but I always end up changing back to the Poly. I know better now though, on our last trip I think I initally booked the Boardwalk, then waited too long to try to switch back to the Poly and there was no room for us :-(. We ended up at CSR instead. CSR was nice, but it sure wasn't the Poly.

Of course not! It's Disney World! It's never too much! LOL!!! If I were you I'd just keep making that post throughout the day, whenever you feel you need a little pick me up. ;-) Double digits is an acheivement day. We plan these trips for so long and then just have to sit and wait, we need milestones to celebrate, for sure!

Your DH has the right idea! . I really can't wait to just be there and finally stay at the Poly, which I've wanted to do since I was 7.
Now, I feel like we're getting close!!! This trip has been booked since last July!!!

A whole year of waiting...I know how that feels! We booked this September trip in Aug 11, BEFORE we even came down in September 2011! Originally booked at POR, but then after getting back from the Poly we knew we had to stay there again instead. The clincher for us was when we heard the girls talk about "the Polynesian" all the time after we got back. Oh what we do for our !!

Tell me about it!!! I guess one good thing for me this time is that we will have likely booked our April 2013 trip prior to leaving for our July trip (if prices are released in June again)...so at least this time I know exactly when we are going back....that will take the edge off of the end of our trip...
And, if we get a BB offer, I will likely book a quickie trip for this Oct. to do MNSSHP!!!!

The castle is NW of the GCH so an UGLY tower rising above the "serene and perfect the way it looks now" GCH would not foreshadow the pool. But the problem they are having to fix (eventually) is the marsh land is sinking the GCH. And compliance issues (ADA) so building a tower above GCH would more than likely feed the marsh monster even more.
I wondered about that too - how the heck are they able to build up GF DVC? I think DH said they were bringing in a lot more dirt Ah, he's the one that has the construction company, I just have a computer job

We are staying at CSR for a big family vacation this summer (with my siblings and their families). They would only come if we stayed at a moderate so we picked CSR. I'm excited to try a new resort and I'm pretty sure I'll be heading to the Poly to visit

The CSR was very nice. The high points are definately the pool area and Siesta's, the pool bar. I also liked that unlike the other mod's, you can close off the sink/vanity area with sliding doors, not just a curtain. This worked well for us, as my daughter and I are early risers and the hubs slept in most of the time. We didn't bug him with noise and light.

The pool and the pool slide are really fantastic. I love that there is a QS place right there, so no trekking up to the main building. The chicken strips they serve there are yummy. The bar is rather large too, and they Blue Moon on tap. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the volcano pool and the beach, but the pool at CSR is twice the size and the gals that do the afternoon pool games are great. The kids have lots of room to spread out for the games. They are always kind of cramped there at the Poly.

That said, there are a few drawbacks that make the Poly far superior in every way. We really missed having a balcony. I love to sit outside in the early morning and drink my coffee in peace. Not happening there. The other real issue was the size. I think it may be 3/4 of a mile from El Centro back to the Ranchos where we were stuck. In the heat, that walk was MISERABLE. It was quite a trek to go and get breakfast food in the mornings. I love how compact the Poly feels, I never feel like I need to pack a Sherpa bag and don hiking boots to go and get coffee and donuts.

My advice about the CSR is to DEMAND to be in the Cabanas section. If the room isn't ready, wait for one. If you are Cabanas you are closest to the pool and in decent proximity to El Centro. You don't want to be stuck back in Ranchos, and Casitas is where most of the business travelers stay. It's closest to El Centro, but quite a hike from the pool.

Most of all, I missed my morning Tonga Toast, LOL!
