After DVC, how do you stay in a regular hotel room?
I ask because we are considering a Universal trip next year, and we would really like to stay on-site for the FOTL passes, early entry to WWOHP, etc. However, when researching the Universal hotels, I discovered that we have been a bit spoiled in our accommodations. In fact, it was 9 years ago (!) that DH and I last stayed in a hotel room that did not have at least a mini fridge and microwave. Our days before children!
The Universal hotels, while they look lovely, do not have a fridge, microwave, or self-serve laundry. I *know* that many, if not most, people eat out three meals per day and do laundry when they get home from vacation. However, I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this. So, what would you do? Would you stay at a Universal property for the entire time (4-7 days)? Split time between Universal and another hotel/condo (DVC or otherwise)? Tack on a stay at VB (for beach, downtime from eating out, and a chance to do laundry)?
