WOC Fastpass
We are trying to decide between getting a FP for WOC at our hotel (Grand Californian...do we do this the morning of) or eating at Wine Country Trattoria for their WOC FP...is there a difference? Is the rest. FP much better than the hotel or the regular one anyone can get?

WOC Dining FP
Thanks. We decided to go with the WOC prix fixe dining at Wine Country Trattoria since the menu looked go for this and we have eaten there before and liked it. Also, it sounded like this would give us the best view for WOC.

It will only give you the best view if you show up early enough to the queue before the show. Otherwise the view will be quite average and potentially very disappointing after having spent the money. The Superthread discusses all this.

Actually it depends on whether you go for the first or second show. If you go for the second show, you won't have to queue up as early (we only queue'd up 15 minutes before our window of time began when we did the Trattoria for the 2nd show on a Thursday of spring break week).

We had a WOC GF FP and we showed up about 15 minutes before show time. We did get a center view.....but we were behind some people, so not ideal. I will say, it was an amazing show despite not being able to see the bottom 1/2 or 1/3. If you pay for an early view...send some people early to hold your view. We stayed at the GC so we did not feel like we needed the boxed meal...worked out OK for our family. My DD age 5 sat on my DH shoulders, no one was beind us on our tier level and she loved that show! If you pay for the access....send someone to hold a good spot.

It is an annoying thing about WOC and part of the flawed viewing experience to an otherwise incredible show.

We are going to the second show which starts at 9:15 I believe. We have dinner "reservations" at 7:05 at Trattoria..and I think we'll be done to queue up at 8:30 so I think we will be fine to get a good spot. The first show is at 8 I think.

A problem with seeing the second show is that you may catch some of the first show while in the area. If you are done with dinner and can line up a bit earlier ask a CM at the viewing area where the area to line up for the dining section will line up. |
