Sorry for my absence. This has been a crazy week, culminating with the craziness of this morning -- one kiddo headed to Jamestown/Yorktown on an all day field trip, and the other one up in the middle of the night with the stomach flu! (bleagh!)

As Denise said, it was so thrilling to find another Disney fanatic in such close proximity! It made me all the more eager to meet additional Disney fans here in Northern Virginia (and those of you potential visitors to the area).

Denise, it was so awesome to meet you -- we'll have to do coffee again soon!

Also, I wanted to make sure you all know there's a Virginia mom on the semifinalist list for the Mom's Panel. I don't think she's a member of DISboards -- I found her on Twitter -- but I'm hoping she gets picked and can represent for all of us here in VA! Her name is Ashley and she lives in the Hampton Roads area (where I also used to live before we moved to NoVA).

Her blog is mamaofalltrades dot com if you want to check it out (sorry, can't provide a clickable link because I'm still too new to disboards). I sent her a "good luck" message on Twitter too. I figured if I couldn't make it to the Panel this year, at least I can get behind a relatively local person and cheer her on!

How fun Nancy and Denise that you all are so close! I told DH how excited I am to meet you guys, so I don't feel like such a weirdo for loving Disney so much

I think Ashley was a finalist last year, so hopefully this is her year! I didn't know she lived in VA. I remember her blog name though from reading some of last year's thread. I think she's on the DIS, I wonder why she didn't participate in this year's thread. So does anyone have a vote on what we do for the meet?

Hi everyone.. just wanted to check in... I don't think I'm going to be able to make a road trip...only bc I planned a fairly last minute trip to WDW. I legitimately need to check on some rental property we own in Kissimmee.. trying to find a new property manager... but I'm flying down from the 11th-15th... have a great time tho!!!

I keep telling Heidi since she'll be down there during the Mom's Panel training, she has to keep her eyes peeled for the pink jackets!

I'm leaving tomorrow for a cruise and won't be back until after Thanksgiving, so if any plans are made during that time, I'll catch up on them when I get back. Just didn't want you guys thinking that my lack of posting in this thread is a lack of interest on my part =)

My nephew is having his 5th birthday party on the 10th so I won't be able to make the meet and greet on the 10th

However, I still interested in getting together the another time and meeting everyone.

Not really! Just that if it's something in DC, I'll be taking in the Metro, so it'll take about 2 hours each way - so anything really late or early probably wouldn't work out too well. Tyson's Corner I can drive to - still need about an hour and a half I think to get there, but since I'll be in my car as opposed to taking mass transit, I'm a little more flexible with my times.

Also - if you haven't seen yet, Ashley aka MamaofAllTrades DID make the Mom's Panel! So I guess we won't be convincing her to join us =)
