GKTW questions
I am the mother of three. Hannah (10), Makayla (6) and Peyton (2) - our little wish kid! We will celebrate Peyton's 3rd birthday, December 4th, at Disney! Actually we will celebrate all our kids birthdays as the other two have birthdays on the 21st and 20th. We are traveling to GKTW. I like to be "in control" and am finding out with this MAW trip I really am not. I think I have read many threads and have figured a lot out. The one thing that is a mystery to me is how much money we will need. I know we will get money from the local MAW, but I don't have any clue how much. Can anyone shed some light on this concern? Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the boards!! You will find a ton of info on here! You'll have to start a pre trip report as well!! You are the first family that we know of that will be at GKTW at the same time as us!
I like to be "in control' as well, and simply researching other's trips has helped me feel like I have a handle on things before we get to GKTW. The money from each MAW chapter is so different, it's hard to say how much. We have no idea what to expect, so we have been saving up. We are also extending our trip out of pocket for an extra four days so we have time to see more and also not push Owen too much. He needs his downtime. I know that the MAW chapters "usually" provide enough money for at least one meal at the parks per day and also souvineers for the kids. Breakfast and Dinner can be eaten at GKTW for free and there are a ton of nightly events at the village as well!! I'm so excited to finally meet someone that will be there at the same time as us!!

Congrats on being given a MAW trip! GKTW provides everything for the family for the entire week. This includes meals, park tickets, and accommodations. My suggestion is to relax and enjoy your time away.

Oh Owensheart and tehanig1974 - I think that it's so wonderful that each of your families is going to GKTW and that you've found each other here!

I would suggest that you go over to the disABILITIES Forum. There is a special Wish/GKTW thread there that is currently in Volume Five which provides tons of information and is a clearing house for pre- and post-trip reports.

Great news at Peyton's eye doctor appointment.......she is seeing better than before.........there is a God and he answers prayers!
