Grand Californian Resort
Can anyone tell me how difficult the Grand Californian is to book 7 months out? In particular, during Choice Season? We are looking to get a Studio or One Bedroom during the June timeframe.
Thanks for any insights!

I got a studio for the first week of May this year at exactly 7 months. I'm hoping for the first week of October next year (call in March).

June is busier than some other times but since you are willing to take either a studio or 1BR you probably have a good chance. However if you are talking about the very end of the month (although I think that's outside of choice season) then odds would go down since I think that's the proposed opening of Carsland.

Odds are tough at GVC based on the amount of Villas available which 48 total for all rooms. With that said even the second week in Oct is tough unless you book early as possible. Peak season is tough, your best bet is right at 7 months or during when kids are in school; first week in May.

Does anyone think I have any chance at all of something over the 4th of july? We figure we'll stay at the hotel and pay cash as backup, but would love to try to get the villa. Any size room is fine.

I booked for a June stay at one week after the 7 month mark and there was only one room available for one night during a two week period. Luckily I only needed a room for one night and my schedule was flexible. People have reported much better odds of getting a room if you book at exactly 7 months out.

we are planning to disneyland this June and I plan on calling at 9am in the morning of my 7 month window date. Hopefully no issues will arise with scheduling this stay.

Just came back from grand californian. We booked at exactly 7 months at the exact time that the phone lines opened and could only get 5 nights .

Has anyone had success with getting it for a week timeframe? I keep seeing short stay availability. Also, how able past experience with memorial day weekend?

I always make sure that i book at the 7 or 11 month mark to get what i want. You will want to book your reservations for restaurants at that time as well or you might not get in.

Owners have a 4 month booking advantage and then there are potentially thousands of members trying to get whatever remains at 7 months. In other words, don't go making any flight arrangements until you have a hotel reservation. Ummm...Disneyland doesn't accept restaurant reservations until 60 days out. And even those looking to get reservations aren't nearly as rabid about it as at WDW.
