You are more than welcome to try out other pools. You just have to be a guest at that resort. So book a stay at all the deluxe resorts just to try out the pools.

For those with upcoming stays at the Boardwalk Inn or Villas thought you should know on Saturday and Sunday the Lifeguards at the Luna Park Pool are now asking to see everyone's valid Key To The World Cards because everyone is getting wristbands on those specifc days. We asked what was the reason and they said Orlando locals were illegally swimming there and they didn't have any pool chairs left for registered guests staying at the Inn and Villas.

Wow, we are staying at the Boardwalk next Friday/Sat. Really glad to hear this! Wonder if the wristbands are scrapbook worthy?

If we are AKL guests are we allowed to use Samawati Springs? To be clear, we won't be using points and are not DVC members we will just be paying cash and staying in the AKLodge. I know we've been allowed to use BWV pool when we stayed at the BW and WLV pool when we stayed at the WL so I was hoping that there was the same sort of pool sharing system at AKL/Kidani. Thanks!

Jambo House and Kidani Village are one resort. You can use either pool. Have fun.

my thoughts after reading pages and pages about pool hopping..... Just swim at your own resort hotel and have a fun trip... plain and simple.....

We will be staying at AKL and have 2 children ages 5 and 7. While in Orlando we will be using a nanny for the children. The nanny will not be staying at the resort but I would like her to supervise the children while in the pool if my husband and I are otherwise engaged. Will the resort allow this?

If she isn't a guest at the resort, she is not permitted at the pool. You could probably add her to your room though. As long as you don't have the standard AKL room that only sleeps four.

Does anyone know if you will be able to pool hop from Pop Century to the new Art of Animation? We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside May 22-June 3, and looking to do a split stay for the remaining 2 days of our trip on June 4-6...thought it might be fun to stay at Pop if we can walk across the bridge to Art of Animation and try out the new pool!

The talk I have heard so far is that these two resorts are not sister resorts (like POR and POFQ), so you would not be able to use the pool at AOA if you were staying at Pop Century. You may have to wait to see what Disney says.

Is this true (that guests of a member are not entitled to member perks)? When I went to the DVC site, the pool hopping info there says my guests can. To be clear I mean literal guests, people staying with me in the villa on my points while I am there with them.

My kids don't have member cards in their names, are they not allowed to pool hop? Is it only immediately family? We're traveling with in-laws, can my wife (a named member) count her parents as immediate family? What about her brother (or his kids, etc...)?

Can they hop if I am with them to show my card but not on their own?

We're going later this year and I would like to know what to tell my guests. Every time I've gone before the key (everyone in the groups) said DVC Member on them.

If this is true does it mean they won't be able to check DVDs out for free either?

When staying on your Membership at Disney's Vero Beach Resort or any DVC Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort, you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. As a reminder, during times of high occupancy, please be mindful of the limited number of pool chairs available, and refrain from leaving towels or personal items on unoccupied pool chairs.

Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time due to capacity limitations. Due to the high occupancy that is expected, Disney Vacation Club Members and any Guests staying with them may not pool hop during the following dates*:

•February 20-26 (Sun – Sat)
•April 16 – April 30 (Sat – Sat)
•May 27 – 30 (Fri – Mon)
•June 26 – July 5 (Sun – Tue)
•September 2 – 5 (Fri – Mon)
•November 21 – 27 (Mon – Sun)
•Dec 11, 2011 – Jan 1, 2012 (Sun – Sun)


*Other restricted dates may be added based on projected pool capacity

The dates have been updated but that is the same language I see on the DVC website right now (i.e. "any guests staying with you", and "present your current key to the world card with DVC member designation").

My chief question is can a guest staying in a grand villa (OKW) with me pool hop if I am not with them (or even if I am)? [other than of course the restricted pools or dates]
