Oh the waiting.....

I am hoping for 2013 Easter that DCL will go back to the 3-nite cruise because my usually-not-seaworthy mom has finally agreed to try a Disney cruise but as a newbie cruiser she wants to go only 3 nights (but also wants to experience CC which is why we aren't doing the 2 nite NYC one) and the way our schedules work out a 3 nite cruise followed by 3 or 4 days in WDW around Easter would work perfectly.
Think there is hope or is it most likely that DCL will stick with the 5-nite cruises over Easter? (Which hopefully I can convince her to do if I start working on it now...)

Oddballs unite then -- because I feel the same way! We only booked the 2-night to nowhere cruise next year because the 5-night didn't have enough to interest us. But my dream wish is that they would sail from NYC to Bermuda -- or do 7-night Canada/New England with more ports! I do love the ability to cruise without airfare and airport security!

Count me in on the anxious train...

...Looking to book Thanksgiving 2013, 3 rooms (my family, my parents, my sister and her family) hopefully on the Fantasy.

One question I have after reading the last few pages. What happens in this situation, if anyone knows.

You book an inside stateroom for you and your spouse and your child (age 3 at time of sailing) - then, between the time you book (say Nov 2011) and the time you sail (Nov 2013) you become pregnant and have the baby. Would you be able to add the infant?

Yes, you can add people to your cruise as long as the room can accommodate everyone. We have a cruise scheduled in Jan and just added my sons friend, but we had to move to a cabin that accommodates 4 vs. 3.

Even though they don't require a bed as such an infant IS counted in the cabin occupancy so the same rules apply as adding anyone else - there must be room in the muster station capacity and also there must be room in the age group as there is a limit of how many children in any given age group can be booked on any given sailing. However you can add the child to the reservation before it is born. My youngest was booked on her first cruise when I was six months pregnant and she was listed as T.B.C then our surname on the reservation. She was 19 months before we took that cruise but I booked it on opening day for silver castaway club members.

General question about booking...

If you book one adult per room, can you add people in later?
Quote:
Usually but not always, even if your cabin is known to sleep 4, the muster staion may fill up and no more can be added. It's a maritime law DCL won't break. Also children's programming can fill up for certain ages. Last March I surprised dh with a 3nt cruise, just the 2 of us. About 1 month before the cruise, I started feeling guilty and tried to add them on. I could book ds14 but not ds11, then 10. I tried to add a 2nd cabin but still it wouldn't let me put ds10 anywhere on the ship. I gave up trying and we had a nice time but I never told him about trying to add the kids.

Also keep in mind that anyone you add later will be at that day's prices and NOT at your original booking prices

I'm seriously considering a 5-night Bermuda + 7 or 8 night bahamas B2B if the opportunity presents itself.

We are hoping the Magic comes back to NYC as well. Flying is hard and expensive for 5 people, but we love the Disney brand... so we do it when we have to. We are on the 5 night to Canada next year and hope to head to Bermuda or the Caribbean the following year!

I talked to DCL today and they said nothing yet. She told me she knows they are working on them, but nothing is finalized.

We are waiting anxiously for March 2013, hoping for the Fantasy on March 9-16. Another question on adding people...

So we have a group of family members going or thinking about going 10-15 people). My sister is hoping that she can share a cabin with my aunt. But my aunt is on the fence and I doubt we will convince her to book until the very last minute or she will book and then cancel. So that leaves my sister in a bad spot. She is on a very tight budget and definitely can't afford pay the fee for a single person. There is really no else for her to room with other than me, my husband, and our 6 year old son. If my aunt doesn't go then we want her bunk with us. So what do we do when the booking opens up to ensure she can get the best price possible in either case? I don't want to add her later and lose the original booking prices.

Can we do this?

Book a room for 2 for my sister and aunt hoping my aunt doesn't back out? And also add a 3rd adult to our booking? Who's name do we put down? Can once person be booked in 2 different rooms?

thanks
